Great Barrier Reef Tour Companies

Amazing guide and fellow travellers. This was my first multi day tour and it was perfect for me. It opens up more travel options. The spots we visited, the accommodations and restaurants, the cultural experiences, and most of all, the wildlife. All top notch and unforgettable.

The tour leader was great and the itinerary was well thought out but sharing with the room mate from hell spoiled everything. He snored, he walked around naked, he had showers in the middle of the night, he went to bed everynight between 6 - 7pm so I couldn't use my own room, he was untidy and spread his toiletries all around the bathroom, he spread the contents of his case across the table and or settee or comfy chair so I couldn't use them.. He did get better towards the end of the trip but I had to constantly remind him. Other odd behaviour was he never joned us for a cafe or in the bar or for a meal uness it was included in the itinerary and had brought a fortnght's worth of toasted peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for his lunches. Clearly not a normal person.

Excellent tour! Dax, our CEO, went above and beyond. Hotels are 3 stars and clean. Will check on G Adventure for future trips. Highly recommended this tour.

I had an amazing trip, though if I can give a few bits of criticism: some days felt quite rushed. For example in Airlie Beach, we only had 1 day, which was taken up completely by the planned activity. We had no time to see Airlie itself. Same in Byron, if you wanted to do 2 activities, there was no time left to see the town itself. Visiting the port douglas markets, we were given 2 hours but since it was very busy there, the waiting queues for different stands were too long to be able to see everything in those 2 hours. Most places we stayed we did have enough time. Linda was an amazing driver and both her and Imy knew a lot about australian history and nature. They were very friendly and helpful. The things we see on the tour are spectacular and we were lucky to have a lovely group.

What an adventure on Hammer. From the moment we stepped on the boat we had an absolute ball of a time. Quinn, Karl and Marlee were great looking after us for the three days and also great fun! I was lucky that everyone was lovely so we all got on so well. We had some glorious sunshine and some not so good weather but that added to the experience! We got two snorkels in (3 if you wanted to), some nice hikes and beach time. The food was fantastic, so fresh and so much of it. Also as GF I was catered for so well. We saw whales, rays, lots of fish, sunrises and sets and made memories for life. The after party didn’t disappoint either!!! 100% recommend Pro Sail!

Overall, we enjoyed our tour immensely – but with two (2) exceptions. FIRST: The day when the tour began we looked forward to going to an Australian indigenous museum. I believe it was called “Birrunga”. In particular and on the forms required to go on the tour, I highlighted my desire to learn about the Indigenous People (history, pictures, today in society, future and special beliefs). What we experienced on the tour was an Art exhibition by one artist who was very difficult to hear, who could not answer questions about his own people, who did not have handouts so we could understand some native words and pointed to pictures expressing his interpretation of a particular thought. Others on the tour felt the same way. Then we were taken back to the hotel and told the rest of the day we were on our own. SECOND: We were promised a trip to the exotic Whitsunday Island. We had heard from friends and through reading that this was a must for our tour. However, at the last minute (and almost exactly the last minute) we were told the trip to Whitsunday Island had been cancelled and we would receive a refund. Because of the late notification we were unable to make plans for the cancelled day. We tried to fill that day on our own with other excursions, like dinner cruises, etc. but they were all fully booked. And that was an entire day from tour that Trafalgar failed to meet their obligation. In speaking with other tour members who were upset, we interpreted your decision to cancel shocking, disappointing and not in line with the high expectations we had from your statements about the tour. We did not know if the Whitsunday excursion was cancelled because of mechanical reasons, crew problems, ship problems and were left with the impression we were cancelled because of the size of our group (13) and replaced by a larger group. Although you refunded our money for that, our tour day was lost. Not good! SUMMARY: Christin was wonderful throughout. Regarding the Whitsunday cancellation, she showed her understanding of our disappointment. However, as a result of these two issues, with special emphasis on Whitsunday, we feel Trafalgar did not live up to the high expectations you promised us.

This was an excellent tour! Our tour guide, Tony, was extremely funny and thoroughly organized and prepared. I was assigned a roommate with whom I was very compatible. Everything went very smoothly with our excursions and plane trips. It was a wonderful way to see Australia! Thank you!

I just finished my 5 week tour of the east coast and it was the best decision of my life! The experience was one that I will never forget because of the people who made it so memorable. Our group became so close, we felt like a family after the first week! We couldn't have been more blessed with our amazing tour guides. Jazz and Canel were the best. They were like my moms and best friends all in one. Canel always made me feel so safe and comfortable and that's something that I am so so so grateful for. She really does light up every room she enters and she holds a special place in my heart. Jazz is hilarious and never fails to make me smile. She was always there with open arms whenever I needed it and I am so thankful to have met her. I can't put into words how amazing they are. I'm trying not to cry as i'm writing this review! If you have any doubts about doing a trip like this, I felt the same way but the only advice I can give you is to DO IT!!!!

Great Tour with great people. A good way to travel the eastcoast.

What an enthousiastic and fun guide!! She took us on hikes, and did her very best to give us a wonderful time. Especially the snorkeling on great kepple island i will never forget!

I loved my tour with Kayla because she doesn’t make it feel like a tour guide-tourist relationship but more of a friendship! She was always down to have a good time and put her passengers first. Her knowledge about the areas were travelling in was also fab.

Our tour guide and driver couple made the tour excellent. Understandably, the remote locations we were visiting, made for not so comfy accommodation and service and not such great meals at times. However, overall the experience was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend APT for these kind of wilderness tours.
