Costa Rica Tour Companies

We enjoyed the tour very much. Our Intrepid lead and guide Abdiel Abby Aizpurua did a great job with the tour. Very helpful. Explained various excursions well in detail and provided lot of information about the places we visited. Abby took care of few emergencies we faced very promptly and maintained safe environment for all members of the tour. Great tour and we will highly recommend to others.

A rather quick journey through these 5 countries to get a glimpse of central American life. Somehow it didn’t feel rushed as there are 2 nights in all the places visited ( except start and finish ) . Lots of optional activities for those who want it. Nice hotels, great food and comfortable transport. Even the numerous border crossings went smoothly.

If you go to Costa Rica, pray you get Luis. He absolutely made the tour, and the whole group felt the same. He never failed to bring optimism, enthusiasm, education and encouragement on every single day, and his energy was contagious throughout the whole group. Luis is the perfect tour guide and a wonderful person, a true asset to TruTravels and leaves a positive impact on everyone lucky enough to meet him. He helped people overcome fears, push themselves out their comfort zone and learn about the beautiful country and culture of Costa Rica and wider Latin America. It was an incredible experience and the worst part of it all was having to say goodbye! The tour itself was incredible, with amazing activities in a supportive environment of like-minded individuals. Feel as though I have made friends for life and had experiences that I will take with me forever. Costa Rica is beautifully diverse country, perfect for nature and adventure lovers. We were lucky enough to see LOADS of wildlife which was a big highlight for me. The activities were great, and the guide’s recommendations for optional activities were amazing. A really nice part was that you never felt pressured to do optional activities if they just weren’t your thing. Ill be recommending the Costa Rica Adventure to everyone I meet! It was friends I had made on previous tours that told me to do this one…. best recommendation ever.

The Costa Rica Adventure was amazing and an unforgettable experience. Our tour guide Luis made the experience fun, comfortable, exciting and adventurous. His passion for life and food made the trip not just fun with activities but also a unique food experience. You won't regret it, Luis is the heart of the tour and he went above and beyond.

Communication with the company was good and we enjoyed our tour overall, but we wish that there had been more flexibility in changing lodging reservations once in country. We had a few lovely accommodations and some that were dark, dank and dismal, in need of repair and updating.

This tour was absolutely amazing! It was a Dream Vacation for my husband and I the year we turned 60. We had never travelled to a tropical country together before. The organization of the tours, the customer service, the accommodations, were all outstanding. We have not one bad thing to say. The first part of the tour to La Tortugaro and the Coffee/Cocoa Tour in the Arenal area were the two biggest highlights; but the whole thing, every day, every hour, was amazing! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Our tour guide Andres was 10/10. He went above and beyond and always ensured that we were comfortable and happy. Our wing buddy experience would not have been the same without him.

Eduardo our guide and Victor our driver were both wonderful, looking after us every step of the way, and always attentive to our requests and enjoyment of the holiday

Our guide, Alejandro Rodriguez, was fabulous - knowledgeable, articulate, courteous, energetic, and fun - but not everything on the tour was at the same level. Two of the four hotels we used did not have hot water. One of the hotels was very noisy and seemed more like a hostel than an actual hotel. The tours included with the package were of limited value (especially the night walk, which was not good). And, most importantly, booking of optional tours was less than optimal. Instead of enabling us to select and book the optional activities in advance, we were required to tell our guide the day before each activity. This led to a frantic scramble when one of the optional activities was sold out and we could not find an alternative. Our guide solved the problem (we unexpectedly received a private tour), but the situation could have been avoided had we been able to book in advance.

Jorge Avila was our wonderful proud Costa Rican guide. He was very warm, enjoyable, knowledgeable, and welcoming. He had insightful input to questions and potential issues likely of common concern. He was always open to questions and graciously repeated information. Each day had a thoughtful mix of educational, informal and personal info along with quiet moments that made the day quite enjoyable. Our tour had a happy mix of the cloud forest, jungle, and volcanic terrain and a dash of tourist/souvenir exposure that was just right for my expectations of flora and fauna exposure. Lodging was above my expectations and meals delicious with generous variety. Glad I went!

Our tour director and bus driver were excellent. Our hotel in San Jose was excellent and the one in LA Fortuna very good. However the one in Monteverde was not so good. The beds were uncomfortable, there was no air conditioning and no fans. If this hotel was better my rating would have been 5 stars.

I believe that the guide makes the experience, and our guide, German Rojas, was SUPERB!!!! From his leadership, knowledge, crowd-handling abilities to his grace and humor, he is an all-around 5-star guide! Don't lose him! I loved the itinerary, especially the wildlife watching opportunities. I personally would like maybe a little less time at Arenal volcano, with more time at either Tortuguero or Manuel Antonio, but I would definitely recommend this itinerary to friends and family!

The trip to Costa Rica was a wonderful experience between the nature, the Costa Rica folks and the food.

The 8 day tour i booked (on short notice) was really great. it included many highlights regarding nature and action. the accommodations were great, tours as described, no „bad surprises“. all transfers were in time and drivers were goid obes. guides great. english good. food good. communication good. couldn’t rate any better! maybe not the cheapest travel but you pay for not even spending a minute in research or planning. it’s worth it.

I was so thrilled to find this company, which not only made my dream a reality but exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I booked the tour, the team took care of everything, from arranging transportation to booking the best hotels and activities. They even provided a local guide who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the area, and who made the trip even more special with his insights and stories.

Costa Rica is beautiful! Day 3 is just a suggestion of tour…these are not included in the package so essentially day 3 and day 4 are leisure days. La Paz Waterfalls is a great option for one of these days! Enjoy!
