  Would not recommend for solo travellers! It is a decent option for a Day of the Dead experience in Mexico city, but it is not the same as other group tours where you are given one tour guide throughout and you have a decent sized group to travel with. Instead the tour was quite disjointed with different activities with a different tour guide each time. It was fine as I was travelling with a friend but I would not have enjoyed this tour if I was travelling alone!Show more

  Our guide Julio, was fantastic. Amanda and I were on the same tour as Loeka (ola!), who just wrote her review, and I second everything she says. I don't normally give reviews, but Julio was fantastic and made the trip so memorable for us. From the informative walking tour, to the nature and intensive hike/market experience, the actual festival (which was really fantastic, the makeup, the celebrations...) and finally to the special optional free day we had; to the island of the dolls, something that Julio managed to arrange with difficulty and through ingenuity. The only [comment removed in modedration] bit was the hostel. Even though the hostel was great, I think it was overloaded with guests. I still don't understand why the elevator wasn't repaired after 8 days. 6 flights of stairs daily and frequently is no joke.Show more

  I loved this tour. Julio, our guide, was amazing and worked so hard to give us the best experience. I feel that we managed to see and experience a wide variety of activities, while the schedule also maintaining flexible in what we did. I really felt like i was part of a true local holiday. The only downside, was that the hostel was not well organized, which was likely the hostels fault.Show more

  A fantastic experience. Our guide Milton really couldn't do enough for us and the small gift at the end of the tour was really lovely. We had lots of free time and optional socialising in the evenings. I think this worked well the group didn't feel pressured. Milton was great at listening to our feedback and even changed our small and slightly broken bus to a larger one. We enjoyed the build up to the Day of the Dead and learned so much about the tradition, but also other things like food and culture. Milton was so knowledgeable. The journey to and from Mixquic was long especially on the way due to traffic. A suggestion from us would be to go to a closer cemetery, we saw at least one on the way or maybe stay in Mixquic. It was so busy at the Day of the Dead that my partner and I nearly got left behind. We managed to find the bus though thankfully. I was very impressed with this tour especially after reading mixed reviews about Bamba. Show more
