  Chillon Castle is not offered as an optional experience at Montreux. Would we be able to go on our own while we're there?

    You'll only have approximately 25 minutes in Montreux. That's not enough time to visit Chillon Castle independently, since the castle is about 3 km (roughly a 40-minute walk or a short bus/taxi ride) from Montreux station. The schedule is very tight, and the group will be boarding the Golden Pass train with assigned seats, so you wouldn't be able to break away for a side trip at that point.
    
    If visiting Chillon Castle is important to you, the best option would be to plan it outside of the guided schedule, which is by extending your trip after the tour ends. That way, you'll have the flexibility to explore the castle at your own pace without worrying about missing the train connection.

    I think the itinerary says that the train ride is an optional excursion, so would it be an option to skip the train ride and go to Chillon Castle instead or possibly go to Chillon Castle on Day 5 when we have the afternoon free at Lake Geneva?

    The train ride is part of the official itinerary and not considered an optional experience. That said, during your free time in Geneva (Day 5), you are welcome to make your own arrangements if you'd like to visit Chillon Castle, provided the schedule allows.
    
    We recommend coordinating directly with your Travel Director while on tour, as they can provide guidance on timing, logistics, and ensure that any personal plans fit smoothly with the group schedule.

  I would like to know if this trip includes first class seats. If not, how do I get them.

    The itinerary primarily uses standard class train seats throughout the journey. Regrettably, upgrading to first class is not available on this tour package.

    I have already booked. My question is, does my booking include 1st class seats on the train and if not how do I upgrade?

    The class seats on the train portion of this tour are in Standard Class. On day 3 St.Moritz-Zermatt operated by Glacier Express will be in Standard Class (2nd Class). Upgrade to 1st Class seat is not available.
    
    Day 2 - Zurich-St.Moritz via Chur in Standard Class (approximately 4 hours). On the train from Zurich to Chur, there will be a restaurant on board where guests can buy food and alcohol. However, for the Chur to St. Moritz train, only a minibar service is available.
    
    Day 3 - St.Moritz-Zermatt operated by Glacier Express in Standard Class (2nd Class) (approximately 8 hours). Upgrade to First Class is not available - all tickets are purchased on group basis well in advance. Lunch is included and consists of a three-course meal with mineral water, tea, and coffee. Guests will have the option to purchase alcohol if they wish from the Panorama bar. The Glacier Express features panoramic windows that allow guests to admire the scenic route. As guests will have lunch on board the train, their seats will include a table, creating an experience like dining in a restaurant.
    
    Day 5 - Zermatt-Geneva in Standard Class (approximately 4 hours)
    
    Day 6 - Geneva-Montreux in Standard Class (approximately 1 hour)
    
    Day 6 - Montreux-Interlaken operated via the Golden Pass Express in Standard Class (approximately 4 hours). We are not offering any meal on board the Golden Pass.
    
    Day 6 - Interlaken-Lucerne operated via the Luzern-Interlaken Express in Standard Class (approximately 2 hours).

    This is a fully guided tour. The activity level is Balanced, which includes a cumulative 1–3 miles (1.6–4.8 km) of walking per day. Some areas may feature uneven terrain such as cobblestones, hills, and stairs, as well as 1–3 hours of cumulative standing time. Guests should be able to get on and off the coach without assistance. The terrain involves medium walking distances with a mix of flat and uneven surfaces. The itinerary includes a combination of relaxed starts and some evening activities.

    Arrival transfers from Zurich Airport (ZRH) will not be provided by Trafalgar due to Hyatt Place Zurich Airport The Circle and Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle being within a short walking distance from the airport and directly connected via an indoor tunnel. For departure, guests can choose to take the complimentary coach transfer operated by Trafalgar or a train ticket from Lucerne to Zurich Airport (ZRH) on the last day of the tour only.

However, we want to inform you that this tour offers an opportunity to view the Matterhorn through the Klein Matterhorn Excursion for CHF141.00 per person, along with the chance to enjoy the included highlights of the 'Stay With Stories'.
