10 Day Switzerland & Italy Itinerary, incl. Zurich and Venice
An immersive Swiss adventure featuring 4 key destinations: Zurich (2 nights), Lucerne (3 nights), Mount Titlis glacier excursion, and Interlaken day trip. Includes breakfast daily and scenic train travel between locations.

- Days 1-2
Zurich
Start in Switzerland's largest city. The train from Zurich Airport reaches the city center in just 10 minutes. Spend your first afternoon walking along Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping street. On day two, explore Old Town's cobblestone streets and take a tram to Uetliberg mountain for city views. Get a 24-hour ZurichCARD for unlimited public transport and museum access.

- Days 3-5
Lucerne Region
Take the 45-minute train to medieval Lucerne. See the Chapel Bridge early before crowds gather. Don't miss the Mount Titlis trip. The rotating Rotair gondola goes up 3,000 meters for glacier views. Bring warm clothes since it's much cooler at the top. Take a day trip to Interlaken to see the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks. A recent visitor shared: "The train journey between Lucerne and Interlaken is worth it just for the lake views – try to sit on the right side heading out."

- Days 6-7
Lake Como
The trip from Lucerne to Como takes about 4 hours through beautiful mountain passes. Stay in Bellagio or Varenna for easy ferry access. Get your photos in early morning light before other tourists arrive. Visit Villa Carlotta right when it opens at 9 AM. Remember that many restaurants close between 3-7 PM.

- Days 8-9
Venice
The train from Como takes about 5 hours. Buy a vaporetto pass at the station right away. It costs much less than water taxis. Plan your gondola ride for early evening when crowds thin out and lighting is best. A past visitor noted: "Book accommodation on the main island of Venice proper – while Mestre is cheaper, you'll spend too much time and money commuting."

- Day 10
Departure
10 Day Switzerland Itinerary, incl. Zurich and Interlaken
The comprehensive Swiss route visits 11 cities, including 3-night stays in the Lucerne region at Hotel Vitznauerhof and Bernese Oberland. Includes 9 breakfasts, 3 dinners, chocolate making in Lucerne, cheese crafting in Einsiedeln, and scenic railways to Mt Rigi and Jungfrau.

- Days 1-2
Zurich & Appenzell Region
Start your Swiss adventure in Zurich with an evening walk through the historic Altstadt. Take a 1-hour drive to Schaffhausen the next morning to visit Europe's largest waterfall, Rhine Falls. Visit before 11 AM to avoid the tourist crowds. A 90-minute drive brings you to the charming town of Appenzell. Walk through the town center with its colorful painted buildings and stop at Bäckerei Böhli for their local biberli pastries.

- Days 3-4
St. Gallen & Lucerne Region
Take a quick 30-minute train to St. Gallen to see its UNESCO-listed Abbey Library. Book your time slot early since space is limited. Head back to Appenzell for a local brewery tour. The next day, take a 2-hour train ride to Lucerne where you can join chocolate-making workshops and cruise Lake Lucerne to Weggis. Book an early morning cruise for the best light and fewer crowds.

- Days 5-6
Mount Rigi & Bern
Take a ride on Europe's oldest mountain railway up Mount Rigi for stunning views. Pack extra layers since summit temperatures can be 10-15°C cooler than ground level. Travel to Bern (2.5 hours) and explore the medieval old town in the evening when it's quieter. Make time to climb the Zytglogge tower for beautiful city views.

- Days 7-8
Thun & Interlaken Region
Start with a morning visit to Thun Castle, just 30 minutes from Bern. Continue to Interlaken and take the scenic train through Lauterbrunnen Valley to Trümmelbach Falls inside the mountain. Bring waterproof clothing for the misty observation platforms. Stay in Grindelwald for easy hiking trail access.

- Days 9-10
Jungfraujoch & Return
9 Days in Switzerland, incl. Zurich and Geneva
Switzerland's cultural treasures unfold across 11 cities, from Zurich's Fraumünsterkirche to Lucerne's Chapel Bridge. The tour includes Gruyères Castle lunch, Maison Cailler chocolate factory, and Jungfraujoch mountain railway. Premium hotels with 4 dinners and daily breakfast included.

- Days 1-2
Zurich & Around
Start exploring Zurich's Altstadt (Old Town). Visit the Fraumünsterkirche with its Chagall windows in the early morning to avoid the crowds. "The guild houses and historic squares spanning both sides of the Limmat River create an amazing first impression of Switzerland." Take time to visit Biel/Bienne and Neuchâtel to discover their historical districts.

- Days 3-4
Geneva & French Influence
Walk through Geneva's Old Town and Reformation Park. The cobblestone streets tell stories of the past. Visit St. Peter's Cathedral early for the best experience. Take a trip to French-influenced Évian-les-Bains and the medieval Gruyères Castle. Stop at the Maison Cailler chocolate factory in Broc. "The double sweetness of crème and meringue at Gruyères Castle followed by Swiss chocolate tasting was unforgettable."

- Days 5-6
Alpine Adventures
Visit the glamorous resort town of Gstaad before going to Interlaken which sits between two lakes. Make your way to Grindelwald and take the journey to Jungfraujoch. "Take the early mountain train to the 'Top of Europe' - the viewing platforms get crowded by midday. The Ice Palace is spectacular but bring proper shoes as it can be slippery."

- Day 7
Bern & Lucerne
- Days 8-9
Lucerne & Departure
Cross Lucerne's Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), Europe's oldest covered wooden bridge and see the Lion Monument. "Visit the bridge early morning when the light is perfect for photos and before the crowds arrive." On your last day, head to Zurich Airport. Give yourself 90 minutes for the transfer due to morning traffic.

What people love about 10-day Switzerland tours
- Spectacular Switzerland
Spectacular Switzerland lived up to and exceeded its name. We saw so much but the balance between guided tours and free time to explore was perfect. Our guide Sheryl was absolutely incredible and added so much to this trip. Five stars is an understatement! 🤩
- Switzerland adventure in 9 days - (Zurich, St. Gallen/Appenzell, Interlaken and Lucerne)
My family and I had an amazing trip to Switzerland, thanks to WiseYatra. Switzerland itself was breathtakingly beautiful, and the impeccable planning and comfortable stays made our trip hassle-free and unforgettable. The team was there to help us for the smallest issues (for instance my mom forgot her charger and team WiseYatra arranged it for us by speaking to someone at the Hotel we were staying at in Zurich). Will travel with WiseYatra again, for sure!
- Switzerland All-in-one
We recently returned from our 10-day Switzerland All in One tour in May 2026. Every aspect of it was exceptional. We usually research online and plan our own trips but wanted to see as much of the highlights of Switzerland as possible in a relatively short time which is why we turned to a small group tour. Could not envision doing the big cattle bus type of tour as we did 3 separate day excursions like that on a British Isles cruise and it was not for us. We chose to use a local Swiss operator and after finding the Tour Radar platform, were impressed with the reviews for Open Up Swiss Travel. You will visit each of the major language areas of Switzerland starting in predominantly German Zurich then French and finally Italian. The food in each area was delicious. Vitalii was the perfect guide and his itinerary was comprehensive, informative and so much fun. This ended up being one of our best trips ever after traveling to several countries in Europe and more. The itinerary is well outlined in the Tour Radar listing and you will receive a more detailed agenda before your departure with actual hotels and more information. Emails with questions before the trip were always answered by Vitalii in a timely manner via the Tour Radar platform. The hotels were very nice to amazing with buffet style breakfasts with such an array of choices that would satisfy anyone and were well located in the cities/towns we stayed in. Most days included a walking tour in a different town. Vitalii is a professional and it is apparent that he enjoys working at what he does and has an advanced degree in history that had him discussing the history of each area we visited back to medieval times in the context of how political influences shaped Switzerland into the country it is today. Part of the tour includes numerous entry fees to some of Switzerland’s most amazing venues and the county’s natural beauty highlights. You will visit iconic areas that are exactly what you think of when you view Switzerland pictures online. Vitalii is more than happy to take photos of you and your group and knows the best vantage points to get the perfect shot. If you’ve never been to Switzerland or have only seen one or two cities there this tour is for you and you will be most certainly fortunate to have Vitalii as your guide since he handles the English speaking tours. Thanks again Vitalii for everything! ~Bob and Kathy R Boston, MA, USA
