Great trip!!!! Communications was lacking at times. Lots of marine life sightings! Highlights: Seeing 5 mantas on one snorkel and on the last snorkel 12 sharks swam right to the side of us!! Enjoyed the doral reef restoration, but the survey part time could be used for something else. It's very hard to watch the sea for an haour and a half w/o getting very tired and sleepy. All while the guide listened to music on his phone. Lots of colorful fish, eels and octopuses too. Overall a very nice trip.Show more

The whale shark surveys are designed to contribute meaningfully to research, and I also recognize that the survey periods would have felt especially long and frustrating as, unfortunately, you were not rewarded with the whale shark encounters everyone hopes for during that time. We understand that scanning the sea for extended periods can be tiring, and do note in the itinerary that there is only one way we can spot them and that’s the old-fashioned way of being out on the boat and looking. But I appreciate with all the time spent looking and no sightings it would have felt wasted time.   1. That being the case, I will need accommodation (budget price is sufficient) for the night before. Do I still get the complimentary airport transfer that is included in the tour?

  4. Since you have travelled so much to Maldives, do you know how stable the connection is (other than during the crossings) - I need connection for work!

  1. If you book your pre night accommodation with us the we include complimentray transfer between the airport andf accommodation and back to the airport. If you book independently, then you will need to arrange transfer with the property back to the airport which is the start point for the cruise and where we transfer from to join the boat.

  4. I often work remotely throughout the Maldives when tarvelling to visit local islands and conduct propery audits. Internet is generally very stable and is suitable for emails, video calls and most day-to-day work.
  5. The main reason is that only around 5% of our bookings come through online tour platforms.
