The accommodation in Bangkok was poorly chosen - location was not great, and it was a dorm- style bedding, 6 to a room based on gender, with communal outside toilets/showers. No soap was provided. Breakfast was very poor, boiled eggs and jam. 2. It was a basic style tour - again this was not communicated or made obvious prior to booking. 3. The tour guide while perfectly nice and organised, did not provide any historical / cultural briefings to places visited/ things to see. I expected to learn more from the tour guide. 4. The group members were young and lacked diversity. He was very informative, friendly and passionate about his country. I think he had a good balance with the amount of time he spent with us and then giving us space as a group. How far do you hike in each stage? How many meters in altitude are covered? What luggage do you have to carry yourself during the hikes and what level of physical fitness do you recommend?

We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage. Be sure to check weather conditions online before you depart. We recommend you bring sun protection cream from home to ensure it meets your needs. During the trek, you will only need to carry a daypack with your essentials. Your luggage will be stored at the start hotel in Chiang Mai and your valuables in a group safety deposit box. The physical rating is a 3 - which is 'Average'. Some tours may include light hiking, biking, rafting, or kayaking in addition to walking. The lowest rating we offer is a 2 so this is definitely fine for most healthy travellers.
