Is the food crawl night fully paid for regarding the meals and transport?

The evening food crawl experience is included as part of the itinerary; however, while the guided experience and transport associated with the activity are covered, travellers are generally responsible for purchasing their own food and drinks during the crawl unless otherwise specifically stated in the tour inclusions. This allows travellers the flexibility to choose which local dishes and specialties they would like to try throughout the evening.

May a solo traveler join this trip? Also, what type of accommodation is there for Bangkok?

Yes solo travellers are absolutely welcome to join this trip. Accommodation tour is as follows: Simple hotels (twin-share) (3 nights), basic hilltribe huts (2 nightts, multi-share), sleeper trains (2 nights). In Bangkok you have 1 night at the hotel and then two nights in the sleeper train.

Is there any problem for a person who will turn 40 a few months before the trip?

Travellers must be 18-39 while on the tour, the only exception would be if they were turning 40 during the tour. Our other travel styles, such as Classic, Active, National Geographic Journeys, etc., do not have any age restrictions.

I'm really interested in the tour but I'm a few years older, 41 but very fit as I train competitively. Will this prevent me joing this tour?

This tour is a part of our 18-30somethings travel style, which is only available for travellers between the ages of 18 - 39 to book onto. Our other travel styles, such as Classic, Active, National Geographic Journeys, etc., do not have any age restrictions.

Can I change the dates of my booking?

You can modify your booking dates up to 30 days before your trip begins. If the change is made inside of this period, standard cancellation fees will apply.

What are the cancellation fees for changing the booking dates?

If you need to change your booking dates closer to the trip, from 29 days to 3 days prior to departure, 70% of the total travel fare becomes non-refundable due to cancellation fees.

Is there an option to pre-book a Thai cooking class during my tour?

You can add a Thai cooking class to your itinerary. For such additions, please notify us to update your booking accordingly.

I am interested in the round trip with the visits and overnight stays in the mountain villages. I would like more information about the hikes in particular. How far do you hike in each stage? How many meters in altitude are covered? What luggage do you have to carry yourself during the hikes and what level of physical fitness do you recommend?

We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage. Be sure to check weather conditions online before you depart. We recommend you bring sun protection cream from home to ensure it meets your needs. During the trek, you will only need to carry a daypack with your essentials. Your luggage will be stored at the start hotel in Chiang Mai and your valuables in a group safety deposit box. The physical rating is a 3 - which is 'Average'. Some tours may include light hiking, biking, rafting, or kayaking in addition to walking. The lowest rating we offer is a 2 so this is definitely fine for most healthy travellers.

The accommodation in Bangkok was poorly chosen - location was not great, and it was a dorm- style bedding, 6 to a room based on gender, with communal outside toilets/showers. No soap was provided. Breakfast was very poor, boiled eggs and jam. 2. It was a basic style tour - again this was not communicated or made obvious prior to booking. 3. The tour guide while perfectly nice and organised, did not provide any historical / cultural briefings to places visited/ things to see. I expected to learn more from the tour guide. 4. The group members were young and lacked diversity. I had specifically enquired about this, so again this was disappointing, especially as you’re spending a lot of time together.Show more
