Glasgow - Falkirk - Royal Burgh of Culross - Linlithgow - Edinburgh
Your Scottish adventure kicks off with a stop at The Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures. From there, you'll walk through the cobbled streets of the Royal Burgh of Culross and see the ruins of Linlithgow Palace, where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Later you'll head to Edinburgh for the next three nights.

Edinburgh
This morning covers Edinburgh's New Town, built 200 years ago and home to famous scientists, inventors, and novelists. You'll visit Edinburgh Castle to see Scotland's Crown Jewels. The afternoon is yours to explore the city at your own pace and grab lunch wherever appeals to you.

Edinburgh - Abbotsford - Edinburgh
You're heading to Abbotsford House for a guided tour of Sir Walter Scott's home, with its collection of historic weapons, armor, and over 9,000 rare books. After that, you'll travel back to Edinburgh via Melrose, giving you time to see more of the countryside.

Edinburgh - St. Andrews - Pitlochry - Inverness
You'll cross the Forth Road Bridge to St. Andrews, famous for golf, then continue to Pitlochry, a Victorian mountain resort. There's a stop at Blair Athol whisky distillery before a scenic drive through the Grampian Mountains and Cairngorms National Park, ending in Inverness.

Inverness
You'll have a choice of how to spend your time in Inverness and the Highlands. One option is joining a walking tour along the River Ness with a local guide who can share the area's history. The other route takes you out to see Clava Cairns and Cawdor Castle if you prefer venturing into the surrounding landscape. After your chosen activity wraps up, the afternoon is yours to wander around and check out whatever catches your interest at your own pace.

Inverness to Thurso
You'll head north through the Highlands this morning, starting at Culloden where the 1746 battle changed everything. The visitor center there fills in the details about what happened. From there, the route follows the coast to Dunrobin Castle, which is really one of the biggest and finest historic homes in Scotland with that striking French-style architecture. You'll arrive in Thurso, the northernmost town on the mainland, giving you some free time before dinner.

Thurso - Orkney Islands - Thurso
A ferry takes you to the Orkney Islands for the day. You'll see the Old Man of Hoy, visit Skara Brae and Skaill House, and check out the Ring of Brodgar. In Kirkwall, there's a guided tour of the Orkney Brewery with light lunch at the Tasting Hall café. You'll return by ferry in the late afternoon.

Thurso - Ullapool - Isle of Skye
Today features wild Scottish scenery with yellow-sand beaches and clean estuaries. You'll drive to Ullapool, a fishing port where you can have traditional fish and chips at a local spot. Late afternoon brings you to the Inner Hebridean Isle of Skye.

Isle of Skye
You're driving around the Trotternish Peninsula to see unusual rock formations, dramatic waterfalls, and striking landscapes. There's a stop at thatch-roofed cottages at the Museum of Island Life near Flora MacDonald's resting place. Later you'll have free time in Portree, the island capital, before returning to your hotel with views of the Cuillin Hills.

Isle of Skye - Glenfinnan - Fort William - Oban
Start your day at the Museum of the Isles learning about Clan Donald's history, then take the ferry back to the mainland. Next you're heading to Glenfinnan to see the Jacobite monument and that famous viaduct from the Harry Potter films. After that, you'll drive through Fort William (which sits at the base of Ben Nevis) and then through Glen Coe on the way to Oban, passing through some really scenic terrain along the way.
