Our Get Social trips are hostel share only. A private room is not something we can offer. Our Play and Pause trips are Hotel style and double rooms are available on those departures.

What is the single supplement to take a single room?

This trip is our Get Social travel style, meaning that all accommodation is multi share/hostel style split by gender. We don't offer single supplements on this tour. If you would like to book a single room, you may be interested in our Delve Deep: NZ North Island or Delve Deep: NZ South Island trips, which are in hotel style accommodations.

Is the price of domestic flight to Christchurch included in the tour?

There are no included flights in this particular trip, you will travel via coach starting in Auckland and making your way down to Christchurch including a ferry.

I am 58 years old fit energetic and healthy adult from Toronto Canada. I wonder if I can join this tour. I have done similar thing in the past on a different tour.

Unfortunately we are quite strict with our age limits. I do have a sister company though you should have a look at this might work well for you.

I'm 34 and planning to travel with my mother, she is 62 years. She is active and absolutely mobile, but still - she is not 20 :) Which tour could you advise? maybe there is the one to combine middle active and active?

All Topdeck trips are designed for and aimed at the 18-39-year-old market. The average age on most of our trips is around 23-25 years old. Most of our trips are based on share accommodation, and our passengers expect to be sharing with fellow travellers of the same age. We have up to 50 passengers on some of our trips and we do need to keep in mind that when they book their trip, they all expect to be travelling with people of the same age group (18-39 years). We're deeply sorry that you are unable to join the trip, but unfortunately, we must adhere to our company's promise.

Would like to know if there is an option for upgrade to a single room.

As this is a Hostel style trip, there is no option for a single room upgrade. The Delve deep New Zealand tours do have options for single rooms however.

Really great tour overall, got pretty lucky with some of the activities cause they can be weather dependent. Was not able to do black water and white water rafting on the north island or the Tongariro alpine crossing. Guy was extremely informative and was very flexible with changing plans if something didn't work out. Was a pretty good pace for most of the tour, aside from three places on the south island where we stayed for only night. Still saw the majority of the cool things around the island, would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore New Zealand!Show more

Great adventure, alot of experiances to enjoy. Its a slower pace tour in the sense that there is alot of time on the road travelling from place to place. The nightlife scene was more around Pubs rather than clubs. The tour is mainly focused on exploration, seeing the country via Hikes, Planes, Helicopters and such. There are many cultural experiances that get you into the Kiwi lifestyle, along with plenty of lord of the rings experiances along the way.Show more

Our leader Jimmy and driver Em were both incredible at their jobs and made the experience that much better. Everything was well organised and the inclusions and optionals were great. It was a really amazing experience, I am really thankful for a good job Scotty and Craig did. Apart some small things like no wifi on the bus and crazy priced one at accommodations everything was really good. Really felt in love with Queenstown, Wellington , Milford Sound. However, I think , that some activities should be included , otherwise a day is spent doing nothing. E.g. Fox glacier, if you do not go for a hike , there's like 3 cafes and you in the middle of nowhere , same goes for rotorua , I did rafting , because otherwise there's nothing else to do, which is king of annoying a bit. Lastly, I suggest 1 day instead of 2 in Tongariro park , because apart from walks (it was raining and foggy) there's nothing else. More time in Wellington would have been cool. Also , if possible finish tours in a different way, because the last day of tour for nearly all people (6 day and 10 day and 14 day) was driving in the morning and getting left somewhere , in our case Auckland without a tour in the city and simply a sad mood. Apart from these small things ,everthing was amazing - the team, the people I went with , didn't expect so many solo travellers which made it so good. Loved the glow worms walk in Fox glacier forest , all the things done South Island - lake Matheson was amazing , lake Ahau , furry seals and overall all! ThanksShow more

  The Delve Deep: north island finishes at 1pm in Wellington, and the Delve deep: south island starts at 7pm. You have 6 hours between the two tours to travel from Wellington to Christchurch. The flight takes about 3.5 hours.
