  I am impressed with Intrepid’s mission and how consistently it was lived out on our trip. I am a traveler not a tourist and this style of travel supports that. We traveled and ate as locals, were given helpful cultural information, and the small size not only facilitates interaction and new friendships, but… we’re not an invading horde. It feels respectful. The pace of the travel was perfect, as was the balance between planned and free time. And, our guide, Matteo, is an accomplished guide and a truly enjoyable human being. And ***** to all the “behind the scenes” people as well. Very happy with the experience!!Show more

  We thoroughly enjoyed our experience of the Best of Spain Tour. Many thanks to our wonderful tour leader, Julieta, for her welcoming presence and professionalism. She provided excellent suggestions for our free-time explorations of each segment of the tour and happily assisted group members with any individual requirements for the optional activities. Her cheerful demeanour and energy kept our group focused and cohesive. Her knowledge of the various historic sites, customs and cultures was supplemented with her connections to local professional tour guides. The itinerary gave us the taste of Spain that we were hoping for and fulfilled our expectations. All the travel transportation modes went smoothly, the accommodations were good and well-located for our needs, and, of course, the food choices were amazing. We would rate this tour as excellent and would like to extend again a huge thank you to Julieta for helping to make this trip so worth the two-year wait imposed upon us by Covid.Show more

  The Reason it was excellent was not so much the tour, although the part I did get to do was fantastic, but rather the fact that when the coronavirus stopped our trip in Spain, our tour guide Sergi was a complete hero, making certain all of us were on a flight safely home before he dealt with his own problems in getting back home. I will never forget his kindness and professionalism, and so will always feel safe using Intrepid.Show more

  The number one reason for this score was my guide (and trainee guides). Elina was incredible, friendly and knowledgeable. So passionate for what she does. Plus we were so lucky to have Philipe, Sergi & Matta join us, they gave us that little extra flair and were so good to everyone. I also loved the hotels - not all of them I can give 1% thumbs up but they were in great locations, friendly staff and generally had a beautiful Spanish vibe. The main two hotels that may need a little improvement is Madrid and Barcelona, nice enough, further out of the centre and felt stock standard rather than a typical intrepid style hotel. Perfect amount of free time versus inclusions. Maybe the odd additional breakfast inclusion on early mornings would be helpful but not the end of the world to have included (more option to go explore!)Show more
