We had an enjoyable trip on our nile cruise. It was an unique experience with many activities besides the river cruise. We expected to get all the information about pick up times, an exact programme with time stamps and travel times etc. beforehand, since we are used to this in our country. We learned that this is different in Egypt: We were informed about the things mentioned above only a few hours in advance every day. In the end everything worked out perfectly. The guides picked us up on time, the lunchboxes were ready, the crew always made sure we had everything we needed and their service was excellent. But we felt a bit uncomfortable not being informed clearly before the trip. We learned later, that sometimes it was not possible to give us the information beforehand, as the cruise ships will decide about navigation times and embarkment stations quite spontaneously. (knowing this would have helped us too ;-)) Most of the temple visits were extremely early in the morning (around 4:30) due to the hot weather and the navigation time needed by the boat, which we only realized when we had already started the cruise. We had a private guide for every temple which was amazing!! The sights were very crowded, especially Abu Simbel (4h drive by car to get there) and Edfu. The boat was nice and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The food was amazing. We felt very welcomed. Our favourite place was on the sundeck, where there were comfortable chairs with towels and a pool. Also the views from there were spectacular. The cruise led through wonderful picturesque landscapes; great sunrises and sunsets included. Our absolute highlight was the hot air balloon ride. Simply breathtaking! The contact with Amer was good, he was always available and picked up the phone very fast. Overall we would book with Egypt Cheap Holiday again, now that we know more about how everything works here. For first-time-travellers like we were, we hope that they get more information already from the beginning :-)Show more
