  The itenerary was good but the organization was terrible. Europamundo is really a tour operator targetted to Spanish speaking people. Despite they sell tour in "english", the guides are really native spanish speakers that can do some english. Despite the tour is supposed to be fully guided, the guides would, most of the time, take us to a destination and then leave us wonder around by ourselves, so yes we could see stuff, but there wasn't any explanation of what we were seeing. The tour we booked was in reality composed of several small tours so guides, busses and companions travellers were changing almost every day. Except for the hotels in Tokyo (the first) and Hiroshima, the others were sub-par. The one in Kyoto and the second in Tokyo were the worst, the one in Osaka was functional but the room was so small that you needed to "walk like an egyptian" to move. I usually take tours when I visit a new country the first time, so I can relax while learning about the new environment and culture, but that wasn't the case with this tour.Show more

All details about the tour, including its bilingual nature, are clearly explained on our website before booking. Although the tour is offered in English, our guides come from various countries, not only Spain, and all have a high proficiency in English—our policy requires all guides to have at least a C1 level in English to work with bilingual groups. This ensures they can communicate effectively and provide quality information. Regarding the role of our guides, they are tour companions who accompany the group, but they do not provide continuous commentary at all times. When the itinerary indicates free time, passengers have time to explore independently, which is a standard practice in guided tours. Additionally, the group size may vary depending on sales and logistics; nowhere do we state that the tours are with small groups. The hotels included in the tour meet the contracted quality standards of 3 to 4 stars. In Japan, hotel rooms are generally smaller due to local standards, and while some hotels are not located in city centers, they are chosen for their quality and access to public transportation.   This tour was very fun and insightful. Beautiful views of the most visited places. The traveling with suitcases was made incredibly easy (One of my concerns before taking this trip) and the people we met including the guides also contributed to the great experience. It is a very fast paced tour with 1 hour in each destination however this is what we signed up for when seeing the many sights this included. Maybe not best suited for older people who have difficulty with their mobility as sometimes the walk is a quick pace and many places are populated with other tourists. All in all a great experience.Show more

  Too many shrines and temples but the rest of the itinerary was good - especially Hiroshima, remembering the bombing. Initial guides, led by David, were excellent, particularly in making us all feel part of a "family" on tour. Later guides were nor so personal or relatable.Show more
