    Asked on April 1st, 2024

Are e-bikes available for hire? Are single rooms an option? What is the luggage limit?

    Accommodation
    Tour Details
    Transport
    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten April 2024

      1. Are e-bikes available for hire? YES for an additional hire fee. We are finding more people are taking e-bikes on our road biking trips but it is important that cyclists are assertive and have good road biking skills. Some of the days are 80km+ and the e-bike battery pedal assist range is 80km, so it might be that the battery runs low or out completely on the longer days depending how it is used. Yet we do have the support vehicle as a backup. 2. Are single rooms an option? YES and a single supplement is payable if you would like to guarantee your own room. We will match solo travellers of the same gender on a trip in the twin share accommodation. 3. What is the luggage limit? Our trailers can take a bag per person. You will be fine with 20kg luggage, and a day pack can be carried in the support vehicle.

      4. Somewhere it was mentioned "partially supported", what is not fully supported?

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2023

Gravel road bike $NZD350. The tour is fully supported and if at any stage you feel like having a rest from cycling you will be able to ride in the support vehicle.

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2023

      Single Supplement $NZD795

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2023

The Southern Lakes Cycle is graded moderate. You will need to be a competent road rider with stamina and a good level of fitness, you should be able to cycle comfortably for 4-6 hours or around 80km/50miles per day, day after day. There are some long undulating and hilly sections. You should be confident riding on main roads alongside traffic which can be travelling at speed. This tour is not for beginners.

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2023

Adventure South offers fully guided and supported tours and the cost includes all accommodation on tour, most food and tasty snacks, professional guides and support vehicles.

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten May 2023

    Tour Details
    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2022

The beauty of a fully supported trip is that you can forget about the planning and all the other hard bits, and focus on the adventure ahead. We aim to include as much as possible into our trips so that all you need to think about is being in the moment. We include all accommodation, most meals, a support vehicle, private transport and guides. We will match solo travellers of the same gender on a trip in twin share accommodation. A single supplement is payable if you would like your own room.
