- Day 1
San Francisco to Sacramento to Lake Tahoe to Reno
You'll leave the San Francisco Bay Area and drive to Sacramento, stopping at the California State Capitol to see the building up close. From there, it's on to Lake Tahoe where you can take in the mountain scenery around North America's largest alpine lake. By evening you'll be in Reno, and you'll have time to relax at your hotel or head down to try your hand at the casinos if that interests you.

Reno to Perrine to Shoshone Falls to Pocatello
Starting out of Reno, you'll drive through the Great Basin Desert and see the varied landscapes of the western region. The Perrine Memorial Bridge over Snake River Canyon comes next, a spot known for skydiving and BASE jumping activities. In the afternoon, you'll visit Shoshone Falls and walk out on the observation deck to see the largest waterfall in the Western United States. After that, you'll head to Pocatello, Idaho for the night.

Pocatello to Yellowstone National Park
This morning you'll see grasslands with cattle and sheep scattered across them, and snow-capped mountains in the distance as you travel toward Yellowstone National Park. You'll spend about 8 hours on a detailed tour covering Norris Geyser Basin, Upper Falls, Artist Point, Hayden Valley, Mud Volcano, Fishing Bridge, Old Faithful Geyser, Grand Prismatic Hot Spring, Fountain Paint Pot, and Morning Glory. The specific stops adjust based on conditions and park status.

- Day 4
Yellowstone National Park to Grand Teton National Park to Jackson to Salt Lake City to Provo
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll continue exploring the Yellowstone area with a stop at West Thumb Geyser Basin. Then you'll move into Grand Teton National Park to see the glaciers and mountains. You'll spend time in Jackson, a real western town with character, and check out the Elk Antler Park in the downtown area. From there it's an afternoon drive to Salt Lake City where you'll visit Temple Square, an important religious site.

Provo to Bryce Canyon National Park to Lower Antelope Canyon to Horseshoe Bend to Tuba
In the morning, you'll drive to Bryce Canyon National Park and see the tall brownstone rock formations that look like natural sculptures. The afternoon takes you to Lower Antelope Canyon with its red sandstone walls and light coming through from above in bands of color. You'll also stop at Horseshoe Bend where the Colorado River curves in a sharp U-shape, a spot famous for photography. You'll stay the night in Tuba.

Tuba to East Rim to South Rim to Hoover Dam to Las Vegas
You'll spend the day at Grand Canyon National Park, one of the world's major natural wonders, seeing both the East Rim and South Rim viewpoints. On your way to Las Vegas, you'll pass the Hoover Dam. Once in Las Vegas, you can join an optional night tour of the Strip or just explore the city on your own if you prefer to rest.

Las Vegas to San Francisco
You'll head back to San Francisco, starting by passing by a large solar power station in the desert. Crossing through the Mojave, you'll see Edwards Air Force Base where spacecraft have landed over the years. After going through Tehacha Pass with its extensive wind power installations on the mountains, you'll travel through California's Central Valley seeing agricultural canals and fruit tree orchards. You'll arrive in San Francisco by evening.
