Itinerary
- Day 1
Accra
You'll touch down at Kotoka International Airport in Accra where Landtours staff will be waiting to greet you. After handling immigration and grabbing your luggage, they'll drive you to the Pelican Hotel. Once you're settled in your room, there's an orientation session to get you up to speed on what's coming during the tour.

- Day 2
Accra
Following breakfast, you'll head out on a guided tour of Accra's key spots. The day takes you through the Artiste Alliance Gallery, the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre for Pan African Culture, and Independence/Black Star Square where you'll learn about Ghana's independence and its first president. After that, you'll check out Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to see his mausoleum, museum, and the well-maintained gardens. By late afternoon, swing by the Arts Center where you can browse and pick up fabrics and crafts from Ghana and surrounding West African countries.

Accra to Cape Coast
After eating breakfast at the hotel, you'll check out and head toward Cape Coast, which takes a few hours. Once there, grab lunch before touring the historic Forts, Castles, and Slave Dungeons. Cape Coast Castle, originally built by the Swedes in 1653 and later controlled by the British, is the main stop. You'll walk through the dark dungeons where millions of Africans were held during the slave trade, and also spend time at the West African Historical Museum located in the castle.

Cape Coast to Kakum National Park
After breakfast, drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom and head to Kakum National Park, which has one of West Africa's remaining tropical rainforests. You get to pick your activity: either take a 2 km nature walk to see exotic plants and animals and learn about their medicinal uses, or walk on a canopy walkway that hangs 40 meters above the forest floor. Later, grab lunch and then head to a nearby cultural center where local elders and drummers perform rituals calling for ancestral blessings, peace, and unity.

Cape Coast to Accra
From Cape Coast, you'll drive back to Accra, covering about 145 kilometers over three and a half to four hours. When you arrive, you'll take part in a traditional Ga Naming Ceremony (Kpodziemo) for diasporans reconnecting with their Ghanaian roots. In a traditional courtyard decorated with bright fabrics and drums, a Ga elder will pour libations honoring ancestors, and you'll receive droplets of water and palm wine on your tongue. As drummers play and people dance and sing, your new Ghanaian name will be announced.

- Day 6
Accra
Start with breakfast before heading to Black Star Square for Ghana's Independence Day Celebration on March 6th. The parade fills the streets with armed forces, schoolchildren, and civic groups dressed in red, gold, and green, while patriotic songs and brass bands create the atmosphere. You'll hear the President's address and find music, food, and celebration throughout Accra as the day goes on. By evening, fireworks light up Independence Arch and Black Star Gate, marking Ghana's 1957 independence as the first sub-Saharan African nation to gain freedom.
