- Day 1
Sarria
Your journey begins in Sarria, the official starting point for the final 100 km stretch of the French Way. After arriving, you'll settle into your accommodation and take time to prepare yourself mentally and physically for the pilgrimage ahead. This is a good day to rest, organize your gear, and maybe grab dinner at a local restaurant to fuel up before hitting the trail.

Landmarks Sarria - Day 2
Sarria to Portomarín
You'll walk about 22 km today through rural Galician villages and peaceful countryside paths. Along the way, you'll pass several Romanesque chapels that dot the landscape, then arrive in Portomarín, a charming village that sits along the route. The terrain is mostly gentle, and you'll have plenty of time to take in the rural scenery before settling in for the evening.

Landmarks Portomarín - Day 3
Portomarín to Palas de Rei
Starting through a pine forest, the trail then passes through numerous small villages as you make your way forward. You'll encounter the notable Romanesque church of Santa María de Castromaior partway through the day, which is worth a brief stop. By evening, you'll arrive in Palas de Rei, one of the iconic stops on the Camino where many pilgrims pause to rest and reflect.

Palas de Rei to Arzúa
This is the longest stage at 29 km, so you'll want to start early and pace yourself. The trail takes you through the medieval village of Ribadiso before continuing on to Arzúa, a popular stop known for its famous local cheese. Many pilgrims choose to break this stage by spending the night in Melide instead, which is roughly halfway. Either way, you're covering significant ground today.

Landmarks Ribadiso Arzúa - Day 5
Arzúa to O Pedrouzo
Walking through eucalyptus forests and past streams, you'll pass through several villages on your way to O Pedrouzo. The Chapel of Santa Irene sits along this stretch and is a meaningful stop for many pilgrims. The scenery here is quieter and more forested than previous days, offering a nice change of pace before your final push tomorrow.

O Pedrouzo to Santiago de Compostela
This is your final day on the trail. Starting from Monte do Gozo, you'll have your first view of the Santiago de Compostela cathedral in the distance, which is a powerful moment for most pilgrims. Once you arrive, head to the Pilgrim's Office to request your Compostela certificate, then explore the old town and rest in Plaza del Obradoiro. If you still have energy, some pilgrims continue on to Muxía to explore the Camino to Finisterre, adding another stage to their journey.
