- Day 1
Cagliari to Iglesias
You'll land in Cagliari and head to Iglesias for the night. Once you get settled at your accommodation, take some time to walk around the historic center at your own pace. The town has that old mining heritage feel to it, so you can wander the streets and get a sense of the place without any pressure to hit specific spots.

- Day 2
Nebida
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head out on the hiking trail toward Nebida. The route takes you through terrain that used to be heavily mined, with rough paths and limestone rock formations creating an interesting landscape. There's an option to check out the Monteponi mine if you want to add more to the day. By evening, you'll reach a small village that sits high above the water, where you can see the cliffs drop dramatically down to the sea below.

- Day 3
Masua
Starting after breakfast, you'll walk through the old mining area around Nebida, then continue along the coastal path. The sea views are really nice from up here, and the cliffs are steep enough to give you a real sense of the coastline's dramatic nature. Keep an eye out for peregrine falcons and Eleonora's falcons nesting on the rock faces. Later in the day, you'll arrive at Masua and can visit Porto Flavia, which is an old port that was carved directly into the rock face.

Cala Domestica
This day involves the toughest hiking of the trip with long stretches and challenging terrain. From Masua, the trail climbs steeply up to rocky peaks that rise far above the water. Along the way, you'll pass headlands and small hidden bays tucked into the coastline. The reward comes when you reach Cala Domestica, a sandy beach with clear turquoise water where you can take a swim and cool off after the challenging hike.

- Day 5
Buggerru
After breakfast, a short vehicle ride gets you back to Cala Domestica to start hiking. From there, the path follows the Pranu Sartu cliffs high above the sea with broad views of the rugged coastline and deep blue water stretching out below. You'll come across abandoned mines and old tunnels showing the area's mining past. By afternoon, you reach Buggerru, where there's an option to walk through the historic Galleria Henry tunnel if you're interested in the industrial heritage.

Portixeddu
The trail from Buggerru to Portixeddu takes you through different kinds of landscape that show how mining changed this region. Abandoned villages and tunnels sit alongside areas where nature is taking over and plants are coming back. The path moves through fragrant scrubland and then coastal sand dunes. You'll reach the highest shifting sand dunes in the Mediterranean here, which rise about 155 meters/510 feet. Standing at the top, the views over the western Sardinian coast spread out in all directions.

Cagliari
The final hiking day starts over Capo Pecora with coastal views, and you'll pass the clean beach at Scivu. Then comes Piscinas with its unusual landscape of enormous sand dunes mixed with abandoned mining trucks and old equipment left behind. It's a long day of hiking, but after you finish, a vehicle picks you up for the transfer to Cagliari. You'll check into a hotel in the city center and have time to walk through the old town in the evening, which has a good energy with locals and restaurants.
