Capo Vaticano - Tropea
Head out to Capo Vaticano first, where you'll find emerald waters, sandy beaches, and steep cliff views. After that, travel to Tropea, known as the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea. You can wander through its narrow medieval streets and see shops, palaces, and churches positioned right above the beach.

Cosenza
If you're interested, there's an option to visit the Basilica and Monastery of St. Francis of Paola, one of southern Italy's major pilgrimage sites. You'll see the reliquary chapel, cloister, and locations tied to the patron saint of fishermen. Later, drive to Cosenza, Calabria's cultural center, where you can check out the medieval old town, Gothic cathedral, and historic theater.

Leisure Day or Aeolian Islands
You have flexibility today. Relax at your hotel if you prefer, or take an optional boat excursion (assuming weather cooperates) to the Aeolian Islands. The boat trip covers roughly 30 nautical miles from the Calabrian coast, and you'll visit the volcanic islands of Lipari and Vulcano while cruising past Stromboli.

Reggio Calabria - Scilla - Palmi
Travel to Reggio Calabria to see the cathedral and the archaeological museum, which houses the famous bronze statues of Riace. After that, take a walk along the waterfront promenade and Corso Garibaldi shopping street, where you'll catch views of Sicily and Mount Etna. Continue down the Costa Viola to Scilla and explore the Chianalea fishing district and Castello Ruffo. The day ends in Palmi, where you can visit the nationally important ethnological museum.

Serra San Bruno - Pizzo
Drive up to Serra San Bruno, sitting at 790 meters elevation on the densely wooded Serre plateau. This peaceful town was founded by St. Bruno of Cologne in 1091 and became the birthplace of the Carthusian order. Later, head to Pizzo, a medieval village perched dramatically on steep cliffs overlooking a narrow bay. Visit the Castello Aragonese to learn about the Napoleonic period, see the unique cave church Piedigrotta, wander through winding alleyways, and try the local tartufo ice cream.

You can join an optional excursion into Calabria's interior to Zungri, a major agricultural center at 571 meters on the Poro plateau. Visit a small local farm producing onions, N'duja (Calabrian spicy salami), wine, cheese, and vegetables, and taste local specialties. You'll also explore historic cave dwellings on the town's outskirts with mysterious origins. The rest of the day is yours to relax, and you'll have dinner with fellow travelers to share what you've experienced.
