Itinerary
- Day 1
Male to Kamadhoo
You'll arrive in Male and connect with your tour leader at the airport. From there, it's a scenic 2-hour speedboat ride across the Indian Ocean to Kamadhoo, and you should keep an eye out for dolphins during the crossing. After checking into your guesthouse, there's time for a sunset swim before the group gathers over coffee to discuss reef conservation and environmental concerns in the area.

- Day 2
Kamadhoo
The day starts with a guided snorkel of Kamadhoo's house reef, where your guide walks through safety and helps you spot marine life. You'll then walk around the island, passing by the mosque, school, clinic, and police station. Lunch involves stopping at a café for hedika, which is local savoury and sweet bites served with tea. In the evening, learn about turtle conservation efforts and the Olive Ridley Project.

Landmarks Kamadhoo House Reef - Day 3
Kamadhoo
After breakfast, take a boat out to snorkel vibrant coral reefs filled with tropical fish. During the snorkel, watch for turtles or reef sharks, and any turtle sightings get recorded for the Olive Ridley Project. The afternoon is yours to relax on Kamadhoo's bikini beach or join another snorkel if you prefer. Later in the evening, there's a session about manta ray research.

Landmarks Kamadhoo Bikini Beach - Day 4
Kamadhoo to Maalhos
An early morning boat takes you to Maalhos. Weather permitting, you'll snorkel the Maalhos house reef where bannerfish, snapper, parrotfish, and occasionally turtles hang out. Explore the island and watch locals preparing moringa leaves and weaving palm fronds. By sunset, relax by the water, and then learn about whale shark research during dinner.

Landmarks Maalhos House Reef Maalhos Island - Day 5
Maalhos
Today you venture into the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Hanifaru Bay. Between May and November, manta rays and sometimes whale sharks gather here due to rich plankton blooms. Your certified guide ensures strict conduct guidelines are followed. Later in the afternoon, paddle out in kayaks through the lagoon, watching for eagle rays or reef sharks moving beneath you.

Landmarks Hanifaru Bay - Day 6
Maalhos
You'll snorkel off the reef of Dhonfanu Island, which sits close to key feeding grounds in Baa Atoll. This experience is more open-water than Hanifaru, giving you a real chance to encounter whale sharks during migration season, which are the ocean's largest fish.

Maalhos
Head back to Hanifaru Bay for another look at the marine life and to observe mantas. The afternoon is free to relax or join a beach clean-up if you're interested. After, celebrate your efforts with fresh coconut water and a swim in the ocean.
