Arrival in Chennai
You'll fly overnight to Chennai and get transferred to your hotel. Depending on when you land, the rest of your day is yours to wander around and get a feel for the local culture.

Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram
This day focuses on two historic locations. You'll check out the old temples and detailed monuments in Kanchipuram, then head to Mahabalipuram to see the coastal architecture there. Both places have impressive building styles worth your time.

Chennai to Tanjore via Trichy Express
After breakfast, you head to Chennai Station and board the Tejas Express going south toward Trichy. During the ride, you'll see nice landscapes roll by. Once you arrive, you'll transfer to Tanjore for the night.

Tanjore to Madurai via Chettinad
You'll drive to Madurai with a stop in Chettinad to learn how tiles are made and walk through the local market. Then comes a hands-on cooking class where you'll prepare Chettinad food and have lunch. By evening, you'll attend the spiritual Arti Ceremony at Minakshi Temple.

Today you take a day trip to Kanyakumari, the southernmost point of India where three seas meet. You'll see the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue, then head back to Trivandrum by evening.

Houseboat Cruise
After breakfast, you drive to Alleppey and board a traditional houseboat called a Kettuvallam. You'll spend the day cruising through the backwaters, passing palms and green scenery. You'll sleep on the boat that night.
