Itinerary
- Day 1
Corfu
You'll arrive in Corfu this evening and have time to settle in before heading out tomorrow. The island blends Venetian architecture with British colonial influences, creating a unique feel among Greek destinations. This lush island has been welcoming travelers for centuries, and you'll get a sense of that history just from walking around town. Plan to rest up and maybe grab dinner at a local spot to get oriented.

Paxi
Paxi is small, just 13km across, but there's plenty to do here. The three harbor villages are where you'll find seaside tavernas and local life happening. If you're into exploring, you can hike up to the limestone cliffs or take a motorboat out to secluded coves. The olive groves have been here for centuries, so wandering through them gives you a real sense of the island's slower pace. You'll get a peaceful day here without crowds.
Optional Activities
- Motorboat excursions to secluded coves
- Hiking to Tripitos Arch
- Hiking to Erimitis Beach
- Stop at Erimitis Bar & Restaurant

Antipaxos
Antipaxos delivers those Caribbean-looking beaches with crystal-clear turquoise water you see in pictures. Vountoumi and Vrika are the main beaches where most people head first, but there are smaller coves you can reach by tender boat if you want something quieter. The island produces a rare black wine from grapes that only grow here, so trying it at a taverna overlooking the water is worth doing. You'll also walk through vineyards and olive groves as you cross the island.
Optional Activities
- Tender boat to secluded beaches
- Island crossing through vineyards and olive groves
- Taverna dining with bay views

Lefkada
Lefkada connects to the mainland by causeway, yet it feels completely separate from tourist crowds. The town itself has charm with traditional architecture and local shops. Interior villages give you that authentic Greece feel, while the beaches attract people looking for water sports or just a nice day by the water. The west coast has dramatic scenery and jagged cliffs, whereas the east and south coasts are calmer with various bays and inlets.

Kefalonia
Kefalonia is the largest Ionian island and offers a full day of variety. You'll visit several monasteries, including Saint Gerasim where there's an ancient sycamore tree and monks' caves carved into rock. The Drogarati Cave has stalactites and stalagmites that run deep underground. Then there's Melissani Lake, an underground lake that's unlike anything on the other islands. By lunch you'll be in Agia Efimia village, and if timing works, you can check out a local winery making Robola wine. Views over Mirtos Beach wrap things up nicely.

Zakynthos
Zakynthos holds UNESCO protection as Greece's only designated natural wildlife preserve, so the water here really is different. The turquoise color runs deep and the surface stays so calm that boats look like they're floating in air. In town, you'll find the National Sea Wildlife Preserve visitor center, the Temple of Saint Dionysus, and local spots making olive oil and wine. Strata Marina is where everyone walks for cafes and dinner, lined with restaurants and bars overlooking the water.

Ithaca
Ithaca carries the legend of Odysseus and feels special because of that history. The main stop is Katharon Monastery, sitting 500 meters up on a hillside with views stretching across the Arcadia mountains and nearby islands. The climb is worth it for those views alone. The island itself attracts people looking for quiet time and reflection rather than nightlife. You'll find peaceful bays and archaeological sites scattered around, making this a good day for slower exploration.
Optional Activities
- Katharon Monastery visit
- Bell tower views at Katharon Monastery
- Archaeological heritage exploration
- Coastal exploration and bay visits

- Day 8
Corfu
You're back in Corfu, the island that welcomed Odysseus in mythology and continues that tradition for modern travelers. The beaches are clean and the vegetation stays lush year-round compared to other islands. The cultural heritage here spans from ancient times through Venetian and British rule to today, so the architecture tells different stories depending where you walk. It's a fitting end point after your journey through the Ionian islands.
