  Itinerary Day 1 was a smorgasbord of delights. Great start. Day 2 - full of interest. Day 3. Probably you can improve on the choice of wine tasting venue. We got our samples - out of a tap on huge stainless steel vats, but impossible to hear or learn anything. Essentially just a procession of tourists on tour. Considering the importance of Georgia to world wine-making, this is not a good place to show off Georgia´s heritage. The rest of the day was very good. Day 4. The itinerary could be improved. Kutaisi is not a showcase city of modern Georgia, but it is fascinating with its Soviet remnants. More could be made of this, such as sights of life from those times - houses, factories, shops, for example. And this should include the former Soviet resort attractions and sanatoriums around Tskaltubo. We stopped at none of these, so we are just left with enticing images on Google Maps. Martvili Canyon is interesting enough. Prometheus Cave much less so - its cacophony of lights and blaring music trying to create mood in what is really quite an ordinary cave experience. We did not get the dinosaur footprints tour, but that would be easily replaced anyway by more emphasis in the Kutaisi region on Soviet lifestyle and its consequences today. Day 5 was an enthralling journey. Try to find something better that the Mikheil Khergiani Museum with its dim and aging exhibits and essentially nothing much in English. Yet Russians and Georgians would have interest. Bit lucky our guide was able to explain the ancient living conditions in the ground floor section. Day 6. The journey to Ushguli and the walk around the village - all good. Day 7. Good. Day 8. Good. Day 9. Good. Guide and the local operator (Glad Travel Georgia) Difficult to find a better guide and driver anywhere. Competent and professional, and deserves to be rewarded accordingly. Transfers to and from Airport - timely and reliable. Tourradar provides a messaging link which enables you to contact the local tour operator before or during the tour. Prompt and helpful service was provided, and they solicit progressive feedback during the tour. On just one occasion I made suggestions to improve a few aspects of communication, and action was applied seamlessly. Proficient use of English by both tour operator and driver/guide contributed to a smooth and enjoyable experience where topics and questions could be responded to in depth. Hotels Different clients want different types of hotels. Those provided for us were towards the high end. Priority is always required to go to big and comfortable beds, bathrooms where the water does what it is supposed to do, and wifi without problems. So it can be more of a Georgian travel experience to select hotels which are a little more consistent with Georgian travel hospitality. Location of hotels - Tbilisi. Very good, with plenty of local culture nearby. Kutaisi. Good, but the location in the city centre meant that it was not possible to explore the Soviet neighbourhoods which define Kutaisi. Mestia. I understand that the promised hotel was not available, and the one we ended up in had several issues, and entailed a long walk into town. Batumi. Available nearby were a range of walking options so that you could experience a range of features of the city. Meals We had many opportunities to sample Georgian dishes, largely chosen by our guide who found places that suited what we were looking for in local cuisine. Nevertheless, we never quite got to grips with why restaurant bills always got to be higher than expected when compared with the menu. Service charges? foreigner taxes? dodgy add-ons? Some more guidance is required, maybe simply by the guide just checking the bill. For the evening meal we explored what other meal options the locals used, and these were available near the hotels. Good. As a sidebar, we understood that it was crucial that we bought health insurance in Georgia before we left home, and that that would be checked upon arrival in Tbilisi Airport. Doh, no checking and no questions as we went through Passport Control, so not sure what the system really requires.Show more

  We had a great time during this Tour which involves a lot of driving as Georgia is very mountainous but overall is very rewarding. Kudos to our guide Tornike which is a very knowledgeable young man both on historical aspects of Georgia and the monuments covered in the tour. Most importantly given the long hours driving, he is a very careful driver, well mannered and pleasant fellow that for his age you can discuss anything with him from world history to world politics in a very knowledgeable and articulate manner.   I really enjoyed the tour of Georgia. The country impressed me with its beautiful landscapes, historical sights, and warm hospitality. The itinerary was varied and well organized. Our tour guide, Levan, was outstanding—knowledgeable, friendly, and always helpful. His expertise and enthusiasm made the trip even more enjoyable. The only minor drawback was that some of the drives were quite long and a bit tiring. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend this tour.Show more
