- Day 3
Belem
This morning you can choose between a locally-led walking tour covering Portuguese art and tradition, or diving into the city's salted codfish culture with your Tour Manager. After that, you'll head to Belem to see the iconic UNESCO-listed Belem Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery. If you're interested, there's an optional evening of traditional Fado music performed by local artists.

Evora
You're traveling through the Portuguese countryside today to a family-owned cork factory where you'll learn how cork is produced and why Portugal leads the world in it. Later, you'll reach Evora (UNESCO) and walk through the medieval walled city with a local expert, seeing the well-preserved Roman temple and cobbled streets.

The route heads south toward the Algarve. You'll stop at a local gin distillery to see how traditional Portuguese gin is made, then move on to a winery in the Alentejo region for wine tasting and lunch. By evening you'll arrive in Lagos, a historic resort town where Moorish and Renaissance architecture meets towering coastal cliffs.

You'll start by learning about the sardine canning industry and its role in the Algarve's history. Lunch is a savory picnic with fresh seasonal and local Algarve specialties, and you'll return to Lagos in the evening for free time.

Later you'll reach Cascais and the Portuguese Riviera, where mansions reflect the area's past as a retreat for exiled European royalty.

Sintra - Cascais
You'll explore Obidos with its whitewashed houses inside medieval city walls, and try a ginjinha (sour cherry liqueur in a chocolate cup). Next is Sintra (UNESCO), a hilltop hub where Portuguese kings spent their summers for six centuries. You can either wander the village and its local crafts, or take a guided tour of the National Palace. The day ends with a farewell dinner in Cascais.
