For the last three days, items from subsequent days were brought forward and shortened without consultation. As a result, we would arrive in Cancun hours early. The guide was helpful and knowlegable, however should habe spent more time on English explanations instead of speaking mostly in Spanish. The term "visit" in descriptions is unclear; it does not always mean "going in", sometimes only "driving or walking by"; always check with the guide.Show more

  Before taking this tour be sure you read the itinerary in detail and consider the time and distances involved in travel each day. Know that you will travel over many winding mountain roads and some not so good road conditions and encounter many speed bumps used to slow traffic that can be challenging if you have back issues. Still, the scenery can be breathtaking from spectacular mountain views to beautiful waterfalls. Consider all of this in relation to your health and ability to endure long hours of riding in a possibly smaller vehicle than a large tour bus. I managed as a 75-year-old male, but it would have been easier at a younger time in my life. We were in a Mercedes Sprinter Van and unfortunately the AC was not adequate to keep the interior comfortable during the afternoon drives in hot sun (traveled in February). The hotels are generally very good and some wonderful. The sites to be seen are all great and it is an ideal way to see Mexico from the rural environment to the big city and much in between. Be prepared for less-than-ideal restroom facilities in the rural areas, like no seats on the toilets, even in what were described as clean facilities. The food was fine but not exceptional. If you are up for intense travel and want to see it all in a short period of time, this trip might work for you. I am glad I did it but would not likely repeat it as offered here given my age. It was still a great trip, but I wanted to be honest here about the actual experience, so you know exactly what to expect. If you are a seasoned traveler, as I am, you will have encountered comparable experiences in many places in the world, so not a reason to not go, just be prepared.Show more
