There are currently 12 travellers booked on this tour. 25% of the total group are travellers above the age of 50. The group has quite a wide age range as well. The single supplement on this tour would be 499.00 CAD additional to the tour cost.

Can I have my own room, is there extra cost? I don't mind. I would need to arrange flights the day before as I would not be there for 2 pm, can you suggest the same hotel to stay prior to the trip or do I need to sort that myself? Are there any many solo travellers, this would be my first time, possibly a little nervous!

Sure you can add the single supplement for an additional 789.00 AUD. We can add pre tour accommodation for 170.00 AUD per night also. As this tour is quite far in advance there are currently no other travellers booked on this departure, although that will definitely change as we get closer to the departure date. All travellers must be solo however, friends / pairs are not eligible to join this tour so it's perfect if you are nervous about being on your own.

I would like to know if single accommodation is possible and how to select this option at the time of booking. What are the details about luggage size? Is 160cm the sum of depth, length and width of the luggage? What does 'main luggage' mean?

Single rooms are offered on all travel styles, except 18-Thirtysomethings and Roamies by Hostelworld. You can add this option when you hold a space on the tour. Luggage must be less than 160cm in total (sum of height + width + depth). Luggage between 160-250cm will incur a 1,000 JPY fee per journey, and over 251cm is prohibited on Shinkansen trains. Main luggage refers to the same 160cm luggage.

Our guide was amazing and knowledgeable, and it was perfect for first timers who felt overwhelmed trying to plan on our own. Ages in our group ranged from 30-75, and we got along smashingly. We averaged 17k steps per day and saw so much! We always got 4-6 suggestions for meals and our free time, and Aska (the guide) would take suggestions too. So if you were into a particular food, had an allergy, wanted to hike, or wanted to see art, she could point you in the right direction. We had great camaraderie in our group and everyone was supportive of having an amazing trip. Aska provided cultural, historical, and social information in addition to getting us around towns and cities—she also scaffolded us to get around on our own.Show more
