Itinerary
- Day 1
Journey to Palermo
You'll start by driving along scenic coastal roads to get to the Palermo area. Once you arrive at your hotel, settle in and get ready for the days ahead. The drive itself is nice, giving you a feel for Sicily's coastline before you even begin exploring.

- Day 2
Palermo - Monreale - Trapani
This morning in Palermo, you'll check out the Norman palace with its gold-mosaic Cappella Palatina, then head to the cathedral to see the royal sarcophagi. San Giovanni degli Eremiti and its red dome are also on your list. After lunch, grab some street food at Teatro Massimo. From there, you'll drive to Monreale to walk through the Norman cathedral and explore the Benedictine abbey cloisters. Later in the afternoon, it's about an hour's drive west to your next hotel on the coast.

Mozia - Marsala - Erice
You have the day to yourself, or if you're interested, there's an optional boat trip south to the island of Mozia. From there, you'll head to a historic winery in Marsala for wine tasting, then drive up to the mountain town of Erice where you can walk through town and take in views over the northwest coast.

Trapani to San Leone
This morning you'll see the unfinished Greek temple of Segesta with its massive columns and ancient theater that overlooks mountains and coast. After that, you're heading to Selinunte to check out the largest and most significant Greek temple sites in Sicily, including the recently rebuilt Temple E. By evening you'll arrive at your next hotel.

San Leone
You have a free day at the beach, or join the optional excursion heading north to Sant' Angelo Muxaro. There you'll visit the Sicans necropolis from Minoan times and explore the legendary fortress Kamikos. Later, you'll stop at the hermitage of Saint Rosalia at Santo Stefano di Quisquina, then wrap up with lunch at a typical trattoria.

San Leone to Zafferana Etnea
Start in Agrigento's Valley of the Temples, where Greek temples stretch over two kilometers including the well-preserved Temple of Concordia. Then head inland to Piazza Armerina to see the Roman Villa Casale, which features 3,500 square meters of mosaics showing daily life, mythology, and hunting scenes. You'll finish by driving through the landscape to Zafferana Etnea.

Syracuse
Spend the day in Syracuse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with ancient monuments and baroque architecture. You'll walk through the Teatro Greco where classical tragedies were performed, visit ancient quarries, and see the Roman amphitheater. After that, stroll through the old town across Piazza Archimede with its Artemis Fountain to the baroque cathedral built into the ancient Temple of Athena, then visit the Arethusa freshwater spring by the sea.

Syracuse to Taormina
Drive up Mount Etna to the Silvestri craters and walk through the solidified lava formations. If you want to go further to the summit, that's available at your own expense. Later, you're heading to Taormina to walk through quiet alleyways to the Greco-Roman theater with its view of the blue sea and snow-covered Mount Etna. Wander Corso Umberto with its small shops and cafes, then check out the cathedral and soak in the mountain town feel.
