You'll arrive at Shanghai's airport and meet your driver, who'll transfer you to the hotel based on when you land. Get settled in once you check in and rest for the evening.

Shanghai
A local guide takes you around Shanghai's main spots. You'll check out the Bund overlooking the Huangpu River, then head to Yu Garden (or the City God Temple if Yu Garden's closed). After that, walk through Xintiandi in the former French Colony area and finish at the Jade Buddha Temple.

Shanghai to Zhangjiajie
You'll fly to Zhangjiajie and meet your guide there. Right away, head to Tianmen Mountain where you can walk on the glass pathway to the Gateway of Heaven. Take the cable car up Tongtian Avenue, see Tianmen Cave and Temple, walk the Ghost-valley plank road, and reach Yunmeng Fairy Summit. Return by the world's longest cable car (7,455 meters). Check into your hotel by evening.

- Day 4
Zhangjiajie
Get to Yuanjiajie top using the super elevator (1.58 seconds to the summit). You'll see the Heaven and Earth Pillar and the mountain that inspired Avatar. Next, go to Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve for panoramic views. Later, head to Shilihualang, taking the electric train one way and walking about 30 minutes back.

Fenghuang Old Town
Head out for a 1-hour fast train or car ride to Fenghuang Old Town, also called Phoenix Town. Spend your afternoon walking through this riverside town where wooden buildings line the Tuo River, and the architecture has been kept in good shape over the years.

Shangrao - Wangxiangu
Take a 5-6 hour fast train to Shangrao, then drive about 1 hour to Wangxiangu (Wangxian Valley). The afternoon gives you time to check out this valley with its dramatic cliff-side houses, waterfalls, river pools, temples, and traditional workshops scattered throughout.

Sanqing Mount - Wuyuan
Drive around 2 hours to Sanqing Mount, where you'll see three distinctive peaks called Yujing, Yuhua, and Yuxu, each named after Taoist deities. The rock formations and natural scenery make for good exploration before you head to Wuyuan later to check in.

Wuyuan - Jingdezhen
Visit two historic villages in Wuyuan starting with Likeng Village, a 1000-year-old settlement with traditional houses and the classic white-wall, black-tile Anhui architecture. After that, head to Huangling Village, built 500 years ago on a hillside with layered houses, and take the cable car up for views of the whole place. Then drive or take the train 1.5 hours to Jingdezhen.

Jingdezhen to Huangshan
After breakfast, drive or take a fast train (depends on group size) for 3 hours to Mount Huangshan. Take the cable car up, then start hiking to see the famous rocks, peaks, and pines. Walk to your hotel and settle in.

Huangshan to Hongcun
Get up early to catch the sunrise over Mt Huangshan if weather allows. Spend the morning hiking with your guide, seeing the pines, fog, and dramatic rock formations. After hiking back down and taking the cable car to the exit, transfer to Hongcun village with its preserved traditional architecture, bridges, and pools.

Hongcun - Xidi - Hangzhou
After breakfast, walk through Hongcun Village with a local guide who'll explain the traditional Anhui architecture and the history behind it. Next you'll check out Xidi Village, another UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site with its own character. Later in the day, drive 5 hours or take a 2-hour fast train to Hangzhou and get settled at your hotel.

Shenxianju - Shanghai
Spend the morning at Shenxianju exploring the volcanic rhyolite rock formations, mountains, waterfalls, and cliffs. Walk across the Ruyi Bridge, a glass-bottomed structure over 600 meters long connecting the eastern and western canyons with great views below. Later, take a 3-hour fast train back to Shanghai and head to your hotel.
