The "Ground Operator Air Fee" refers to the internal flights. Additional internal flights are required in order to participate on this tour and are included in the final price, quoted at time of booking. These internal flights are not included in the land rate. Inter Air Price starts at $1500.00 per person. Please note that this price is subject to change based on availability.

What is the name of the ship we will be on. We need information about the room. How big is the room and does it have a veranda or portal view?

The ship will be the Atlas World Voyager or the Atlas World Traveller. Atlas Ocean Voyages refers to their sailing vessels as yachts. However, these are not the small, private vessels you may picture when you think of a yacht. They are more like small cruise ships: 423 ft in length, 10,000 gross tons and featuring over 100 suites and staterooms. The max capacity is 196 passengers and 130 crew members. These vessels are considered small size by Antarctica Expedition standards. INCLUDED ROOM TYPES: A) Horizon Stateroom (A1/A2). B) Veranda Stateroom (B1/B2). There is no difference in cost. Both room types accommodate two people (2). Cabins are requested and confirmed with Atlas after deposit is collected. If cabin is requested in a specific category but no longer available, we will confirm the nearest cabin type with no additional cost. I.E. if you request A1, but only B1 is available, we will confirm you in a B1 Cabin. UPGRADES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE: A) Horizon Staterooms (A1/A2) are 270 sq. ft. cabin featuring a Juliette Balcony, which is a floor to ceiling window, which can be opened half-way (no outdoor seating, just a window). B) Veranda Staterooms (B1/B2) are 270 sq. ft. cabins featuring a private balcony with seating. Both rooms are 270 sq. ft., however, Horizon Staterooms are fully interior space with the large window, while Veranda Staterooms have a portion of the square footage as an outdoor balcony. Both rooms have Queen Size Beds which can be separated into two single beds upon request. All given names and cabin types are subject to change and availability. Cabin selection and assignment is under cruise line / yacht operator control.

In regards, to the additional charge of $1500.00, there are additional deposits required throughout the process, and usually an additional commitment is required when you choose your cabin category at the beginning. Air packages are available where we can assist with quotes or confirmation of an air package once you have reviewed the available options.

I am a solo traveler interested in your tour starting on November 7rd. I would like to ask if it is possible to find someone to share a room with me. I don't mind if its female or male or culture, age... Would be great because the price for a shared room would be perfect for my budget.

Collette does not participate in traveler matching programs. Guests intending to travel under Double Occupancy would have to be ready with both travelers' legal names on the reservation. Otherwise, the Solo Traveler would be responsible for the Single rate.

Is zodiac landing included, how many? Also kayaking?

On Day 9, your captain works with the expedition team to determine possible shore landings and Zodiac safaris. You may take a Zodiac foray among towering icebergs or hike along the shoreline near penguin colonies. For Kayaking, there are no included opportunities, and we do not offer an optional excursion.

What will the bedding look like in a double cabin? Will the travelers have 2 separate beds? Or will there be 1 double bed available? Ideally, would like a big double bed.

Are there private bathrooms available? What would be the cost of an upgrade to a cabin with a private bathroom?

Overall, we loved our expedition! The ship, it's staff and crew, the lectures, the food, the nature and the wildlife...
Overall, we loved our expedition! The ship, it's staff and crew, the lectures, the food, the nature and the wildlife were all terrific, exceeded expectations. There were a few issues that I would site. 1. I never knew (and still don't ) understand the relationship with Colette and tourradar. It seemed like we received repetitive info from Lindblad/Nat'l geographic and Colette which was somewhat confusing. However, the real issue was that we were advised to book our return flight back on Tuesday evening the 17th, which brought us back to mpls on the 18th, when in fact, we could easily have taken a flight out on the 16th when over 90% of the other expedition travelers departed from Buenos aires international. There was NO ISSUE with time as our ship docked in Ushuaia on sunday nite, the 15th. This was MOST upsetting to my companions and selves as we ended up extending the trip needlessly, primarily due to Colette's misinformation. In essence, we lost a day of work, and our return home was delayed. This was an issue that we had repeatedly discussed prior to booking our flights. We had been led to believe that we needed the extra day to guarantee we'd catch our flight, which clearly was not the case. 2. Being that this is quite a high end expensive trip, it seemed like it would have been better had the waterproof pants and boots been loaned out versus rented at what seemed like an exorbitant price. (pants were $48/pp for the week, while the shop aboard the ship sold them for $60...) Yes, we knew that we were renting, but were under the impression that the pants wee more substantial like fleece lined ski pants. In any event, kind of felt like "nickel and diming" when they could easily have been included. After all, everyone received a free parka, which was lovely, but it seems like the ship should just lend out pants and boots to those who need them. (I believe that's what happens on other higher end excursions) 3. Finally, it was a bit confusing regarding wifi access. We thought that there were areas in which we could freely access internet, however, that wasn't the case. In any event, even when we paid for time, the access was poor at best. Having said that, it probably is one of those things that is best given for free to passengers, with the caveat that connectivity might be poor due to location. 4. Along the same lines, I guess it would have been nice to just be given the video of the trip for free at the end of the week as opposed to buying the thumb drive for $50. all of the "extra" costs could easily have been rolled into the overall price, as opposed to tacking them individually on as extra costs. For the cost of the trip, having to pay for these extras seem a bit ridiculous. I don't believe that Colette really knew the details of this particular tour and I know that I wouldn't use them again, primarily due to the timing of return flights at end of trip! By the time the trip ended, we just wanted to return home after such a long travel day (as the majority of the passengers did,) yet were informed that it would be best to stay an add'l day so as not to miss a flight home, which wouldn't have happened given the actual schedule. In terms of Tour radar, I can say that Jesse and all the other reps who assisted me were terrific and most helpful. It is b/c of Jesse that I continued to book with TourRadar. even though I learned from passengers on the trip that I could have just gone straight to Lindblad to book directly. Again, overall , it was excellent and a most memorable adventure, I am quite happy that I was able to do this expedition. I highlighted the above issues in response to your query, but I imagine it is up to Lindblad /Nat'l Geo to respond to the financial issues, and TourRadar/collette to the timing of the flight back to the states. PS none of us in our group recall getting a reading list that others seemed to have received.Show more

For tours departing after September 28th, 2026, a minimum payment of $349 is required to confirm your booking with Collette. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
