Casablanca - Rabat - Chefchaouen
Start the morning at Hassan II Mosque, which sits right on the Atlantic with impressive architecture. After that, head to Rabat to see Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. The Kasbah of the Oudayas has those characteristic blue-and-white streets worth walking through. Later you'll drive toward the Rif Mountains and the blue city of Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen
Spend your day in Chefchaouen wandering the blue-painted streets at your own pace. You'll come across local shops, small squares, and corners that work well for photos. Make your way to Outa el Hammam square where you can see the Kasbah and its garden. The mountain air and distinct feel of this place give it something really different from other Moroccan towns.

Fes

Fes to Midelt
You'll leave Fes and head south into the Middle Atlas Mountains this morning. The drive takes you through Ifrane, a charming alpine-style town that feels quite different from the rest of Morocco. From there, you'll pass through the ancient Cedar Forest of Azrou where you might spot Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. The route continues through scenic high plains, and you'll arrive in Midelt by late afternoon. After checking into your hotel, the evening is yours to relax and settle in.

Midelt to Merzouga
After breakfast, you'll drive south through the dramatic Ziz Valley with its palm groves and arid cliffs creating quite a contrast. There's a stop in Rissani to walk through the traditional market and get a feel for local life. As you continue, the desert landscape starts appearing more and more. You'll reach Merzouga by late afternoon, have some traditional mint tea to cool off, then board a camel caravan into the Sahara to watch the sunset over the dunes. The evening finishes at a Berber desert camp where you'll have traditional dinner and listen to live music under the stars.

After one more desert sunrise, you'll leave for the Dades Valley. Stop at Todra Gorge where limestone cliffs tower overhead and you can walk around. Pass through the Roses Valley, known for rosewater production, and see kasbahs perched on hillsides. You'll arrive in the Dades Valley with its rock formations and deep gorges.

Ouarzazate - Telouet Kasbah - Marrakech
Check out Telouet Kasbah in the High Atlas mountains, a once-powerful palace that controlled the salt trade route. The interiors show ornate details despite the decay. Then drive to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, the highest major mountain pass in North Africa. You'll see great views of the Atlas Mountains and Berber villages before arriving in the 'Ochre City.'

Marrakech

Essaouira - Oualidia - Casablanca
