- Day 1
Keflavik to Borgarnes
You'll pick up your rental car at Keflavik International Airport and start heading into Iceland. If you want to stop along the way, the Blue Lagoon is right there with its warm, mineral-rich waters that feel great after a flight. After that, you'll drive to your accommodation near Borgarnes and settle in for the night.

Snaefellsnes Peninsula
Today you'll head out to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, which has a lot packed into one drive. Kirkjufell mountain and its waterfall are the first stops, then you'll see Budakirkja church sitting among the lava fields. The fishing villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar have dramatic cliffs right there, and at Ytri Tunga beach you can watch seals hanging out on the rocks.

- Day 3
Golden Circle
You're driving the Golden Circle route today, which covers most of Iceland's famous geothermal and geological sites. Thingvellir National Park shows where the tectonic plates actually meet, and Bruarfoss waterfall has that striking turquoise water. At Geysir you'll see hot springs erupt, then Gullfoss waterfall shows its power. Kerid crater is also on the route. If you want more adventure, you can add snowmobiling, dog-sledding, or snorkeling in Silfra between those plates.

- Day 4
South Coast
The South Coast drive takes you through some dramatic scenery. You'll go behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall with a raincoat, then see Skogafoss and climb its stairs for the views. Reynisfjara black sand beach has those basalt columns and bird cliffs that make it look otherworldly. If you have time, hiking Solheimajokull glacier or finding the DC3 plane wreck are both options to add to your day.

- Day 5
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
You're heading to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, which is about 200 meters deep and full of icebergs from Breidamerkurjokull glacier. You can walk along the lagoon or take a boat tour to get closer to the ice. Just across the road, Diamond Beach is a black sand beach where icebergs wash up and scatter across the rocks, creating a strange and beautiful landscape.

- Day 6
Reykjavik
You'll spend today in Reykjavik at your own pace. The Perlan glass dome gives you 360-degree views of the city, and Hofdii building is where that Reagan-Gorbachev summit happened back in 1986. Hallgrimskirkja church is striking with its basalt-inspired design. Walk through the city center and Old Town near Parliament. If you want more, there's the Wonders of Iceland museum with its planetarium and ice cave, plus Aurora Reykjavik for Northern Lights info or a nighttime cruise if the season's right (September to April).

Reykjavik - Departure
This is your final day before you head to the airport. You can shop around Reykjavik, squeeze in last-minute sightseeing if there's something you missed, or just relax before your flight out.
