Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Frankfurt

You'll arrive in Frankfurt and have the afternoon to kill before your Rhine cruise departs at 19:00. This is Germany's financial center with that famous skyline of skyscrapers, but it's also Goethe's hometown, so there's real history mixed in with the banking vibes. Grab lunch somewhere in the Altstadt, walk around the half-timbered buildings, or check out one of the museums if you've got energy. The city center is walkable and you won't feel rushed since boarding isn't until evening.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Frankfurt's historic old town
    • Visit Goethe House
    • Walk along the Main river
    • Explore the banking district and high-rises
    Landmarks
    Goethe House
    Frankfurt Main River
    Itinerary Image 1
  2. Day 2

    Wertheim

The ship pulls into Wertheim around midday and you're docked until 21:00, so you've got a solid eight hours here. This medieval town is small enough that you can cover it all on foot. The narrow streets wind between half-timbered houses, and the old market square gives you that classic German town feel. There's a ruined castle up on the hill if you want a walk with a view, but the city walls and alleyways are worth wandering through too. Grab dinner before heading back to the ship.

    Meals
Dinner (À la carte dinner on ship (A-ROSA ALEA, CLEA and ALVA))

    Included Activities

    • Cruise ship stop in Wertheim

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Wertheim's old town and city walls
    • Visit Wertheim Castle ruins
    • Walk through narrow alleyways and market square
    • Wertheim Glass Museum
    Landmarks
    Wertheim Castle
    Wertheim Market Square

  3. Day 3

    Würzburg

Midday arrival in Würzburg, departure at 18:00 gives you about six hours. This place sits on the Main river and it's known for wine and history more than anything else. The Marienberg fortress looks down on everything from across the river, and if you've got the legs for it, the walk up there is worth it for the views. The city itself has university energy but also that episcopal heritage in the architecture. Pick up some Franconian wine before you leave if that interests you.

    Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (À la carte dinner on ship (A-ROSA ALEA, CLEA and ALVA))

    Included Activities

    • Cruise ship stop in Würzburg

    Optional Activities

    • Visit Marienberg Fortress
    • Explore Würzburg's historic city center
    • Wine tasting of Franconian wines
    • Visit Würzburg Cathedral
    • Explore the university quarter
    Landmarks
    Marienberg Fortress
    Würzburg Cathedral
  4. Day 4

    Miltenberg

You'll arrive in Miltenberg, a charming Bavarian village tucked into the Alpine foothills. The rest of your day is open, so you can wander around this historically significant area and take in the rolling hills, green forests, and valleys at your own pace. There's plenty of time to walk through the old town, grab lunch at a local spot, or just relax before your evening departure.

    Meals
Dinner (Dinner partly à la carte on A-ROSA ALEA, CLEA and ALVA (table reservations not possible). High-quality drinks included throughout the day (tea, coffee and coffee specialities, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, and a selection of wines during bar opening hours))

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Miltenberg village
    • Hiking in the surrounding Bavarian Alpine foothills
    • Discover local cultural heritage and military history
    Landmarks
    Miltenberg

  5. Day 5

    Frankfurt

The ship returns to Frankfurt at 07:30 and you'll disembark here where the cruise started. Your final morning is back in Goethe's birthplace. Ship facilities stay open until you leave, so if you didn't pack yet or want a last coffee onboard, that's available. Depending on your flight time, you might grab a few hours to walk back through the Altstadt one more time or just head to the airport from the port area.

    Meals
    Breakfast

    Included Activities

    • Cruise ship arrival in Frankfurt

    Optional Activities

    • Extended exploration of Frankfurt's historic center
    • Visit Frankfurt museums
    • Shopping in downtown Frankfurt
    • Riverside walks along the Main
    Landmarks
    Goethe House
  6. Day 6

    Frankfurt

This is your flex day after the cruise wraps up. Whether you've got a flight in the evening or staying another night in Frankfurt depends on your booking. Use the time to explore parts of the city you missed, hit a museum you didn't get to, or just relax before heading out. The location is central enough that you can get to the airport pretty easily whenever you need to go.

    Optional Activities

    • Additional time in Frankfurt
    • Last-minute shopping or sightseeing

Service on board was excellent! Waiters and room service were great. But entertainment wise was rather poor. Cruise was was advertised as German and English mostly German was used. Out of 38 minutes in German, English was use for 3 minutes?? WE had to ask for some translation.. The Cruise administration and presentation on adverting are very misleading. Premium All-Inclusive is just a misleading name and I think it is not the right name for a package!!! Even to have a reserved seats for meals we were asked for daily fee!

This review is about a 7-day river cruise, not a guided tour. The Moselle River is a scenic delight, with vineyard-covered hillsides, charming villages, castles and chateaux. Our boat was the A-Rosa Silva. About 180 passengers. All meals buffet style. We ate very well. The wines included in Premium all-inclusive were mediocre. We knew from a previous A-Rosa cruise that most passengers are German and non English speaking. We missed not having anyone to talk with other than one couple with whom we sometimes shared a table at meal times. The boat did not have very effective AC. The dining room could get pretty uncomfortable. We sometimes took our plates up on deck, and that was lovely. We learned to keep our cabin shades down and curtains closed during the day when we were on the sunny side.

Very good but be prepared to have very few English speaking people on the cruise
