Itinerary
- Day 1
Airport to Habarana to Sigiriya
You'll be picked up at the airport and driven to Habarana, where you'll spend the afternoon walking through rice paddies and the surrounding countryside (around 3 hours total). Along the way you'll get a fresh coconut and take a fishing boat out on Hiriwadunna Lake. From there it's on to Sigiriya for the night.

- Day 2
Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa
This morning you're heading to Sigiriya rock fortress to climb the 200-meter monolith. At the top you'll see the old palace ruins and those famous 'cloud girls' rock frescoes, plus get great views from up there. Later you'll drive to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO site with the old royal city, and then circle back to Sigiriya.

- Day 3
Dambulla Cave Temples to Kandy
After breakfast you'll drive to Dambulla and check out the cave temples, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then it's off to Kandy for a city tour where you'll walk through the market and see the Temple of the Tooth that holds the sacred relic. This was the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom, so there's a lot of history here.

- Day 4
Peradeniya Botanical Garden to Nuwara Eliya
Following breakfast, you're heading to Peradeniya botanical garden which has over 5,000 different animals and plant species to see. Then you'll drive along winding roads past waterfalls and through tea plantations to get to Nuwara Eliya, and you'll stop at a tea factory along the way. Once there you can explore this charming British colonial town with its parks, golf course, and racecourse.

- Day 5
Horton Plains National Park to Colombo
You'll do a walking tour through Horton Plains National Park (about 4 hours) heading to World's End, where the views are really nice especially if you get there early. If you're continuing to the beach you'll head to the west coast after breakfast, but if you're leaving you'll make your way to Colombo airport, getting there around 6 pm.
