  Very expensive for what you get.. essentially a driver and asked where we wanted to go.. our guide was brilliant but he more or less asked us what we wanted to do rather than follow the itinerary.. we paid for a guided tour and ended up just being asked what we wanted to do! Would be half the price just to have hired our guide and asked him to take us placesShow more

  We did the most amazing tour of India with Intrepid a few weeks before this tour, so naturally we were going to compare the two. This tour was just dismal though. Most of the items on the itinerary weren’t followed (we didn’t visit the temple at Dambulla - just took photos outside it... why?!) and everything was pretty average. Our guide Sanjaya was ok but when he had to leave us (due to car damage), his replacement never introduced himself and just wanted to take us shopping instead of showing us what’s good in Colombo. Too much driving around and overpromising on sights. The guides were a little “robotic” and I wished we’d have done an Intrepid tour instead! Don’t bother.Show more

  With a twin share of 1600.00 Australian the value for money wasn't in this tour. We had today for all entry fees an meals but breakfasts. Honestly the accomdation could of gotten it all for 400.00 over the 5 days an travel less then 200.00 for us both. All an all I wouldn't recommend this tour. We had a personal driver but it was over priced for having nothing but a driver an a place to sleep at night. Look at doing this yourself. The accomdstion we stayed in was valued at 60.00 per night average so twin share over 5 days it's not even 500.00 for 2. Just keep 9n scrolling this tour isn't worth half of what we paid.Show more

  This was a fantastic tour! The Aitken Spence team in Colombo was great to work with - very courteous and patient, and quick to answer all my questions. The guide, Tharindu (or Anu) was wonderful as well - very kind and accommodating, and very knowledgeable of Sri Lanka as well. I don’t think I would’ve been able to cover that much on my own. The only regret I have is not being able to climb Sigiriya as a result of the thunderstorm. I should also note that as a single female traveller I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. I highly recommend this!Show more
