Itinerary
- Day 1
Oslo to Sandvika
You'll arrive in Oslo either by flying into Oslo-Gardermoen or taking the Color Line ferry from Kiel. From the airport or port, it's a straightforward trip down to Sandvika on the Oslofjord, sitting about 15 km south of the city center with solid public transport options available. After settling in, you'll have the evening to yourself before heading back out tomorrow. One night here gives you time to relax and adjust.

- Day 2
Hallingdal Valley
This morning you can decide to take another trip into Oslo or skip it and drive straight toward Hallingdal instead. The route passes Lake Tyris with its scenic surroundings, then continues into the Hallingdal valley where you'll spend the night. The drive gives you a nice transition from the coast toward the mountain regions.

Lærdalsjøri - Lærdal - Sogndal - Førde
Head to the Sognefjord, which is the largest fjord in Norway. You'll check out the historic wooden town of Laerdal and see Borgund Stave Church, a structure built around 1180. The Wild Salmon Center there explains the salmon life cycle, then you take a short ferry to Sogndal. If you take the detour via Aurlandsfjell and Flam, you'll drive through the world's longest road tunnel at about 25 km, which takes roughly 2 hours for approximately 80 km. Continue via Skei toward the Fordefjord for the night.

- Day 4
Førde to Fosnavaag
This morning you'll drive through the North Fjord region where the landscape shifts between mountains and water in dramatic ways. The route takes you past the Svelgen area, known for its impressive Ice Age rock formations that rise up from the terrain. If you're interested in a detour, Kannestein rock near Måløy offers striking views worth the extra time. By evening you'll reach Fosnavaag, a traditional fishing village where you'll stay the night and get a feel for the local character of the coast.

Surnadal
Cross the Moldefjord along a coastline with scattered islands creating beautiful scenery. Head toward the Atlantic Road near Kristiansund, where eight curved bridges connect the islands to the mainland and offer great views along the way. Later, explore the Trollheimen mountain region, known for its distinctive mountain scenery. You'll finish your day in Surnadal.

- Day 6
Røros
Drive from Surnadal into the low mountains and highlands heading toward Roros. This town sits at Norway's highest elevation and ranks among the country's most beautiful places. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site that feels like you're walking through a living museum with colorful wooden houses and narrow streets. Roros Church is the town's main landmark. You're staying here for the night.

Lake Mjøsa
Head south from Roros past forests and small villages toward Lake Mjosa, Norway's largest lake. Along the way you'll pass Femunden, which is the largest mountain lake in the country. The landscape transitions from high elevation to lake country as you make your way. You'll settle in for the night somewhere in the Lake Mjosa region.

Oslo Departure
Travel to Oslo to wrap up your trip. Arrange your individual departure or look into staying longer if you want. If you've booked the Color Line ferry, you'll depart Oslo at 2 pm and arrive in Kiel the next morning at 10 am.
