Considering booking the Highlights of Japan tour fall of 2027. It looks like stop/day 4 is quite far away. How long is the travel to and from there and is it on coach or plane?

On Day 4 of this tour, the Coach will be used as the group travels to Iga. There will be a couple of activities throughout the day as the group travels to Iga such as Visiting a Tea Farm, Miso Factory and Toyota Museum.

We would be a group of 6 adults and I am interested in a private tour. Would this be possible? Is this also on sale? What would the costs be please?

Travelling by train from Narita Airport to the meeting hotel is certainly possible. However, if you'd prefer a more convenient and hassle-free arrival, we recommend booking an airport transfer. They offer reliable private transfers with a professional driver who will meet you at the airport and take you directly to your hotel.

Is this tour suitable for a couple in their 70s? One traveler uses a cane as a mobility aid and we wanted to make sure the trip won't be too difficult for her to navigate.

This tour can be suitable for travellers in their 70s, however we do want to set clear expectations to ensure comfort throughout the trip. The itinerary includes regular walking each day, and at certain stops the walking duration can be up to around 3 hours in total, with breaks in between activities. Some locations may also involve uneven surfaces, steps, or busy areas, which can be more demanding. Your guest is very welcome to join with a cane, and many guests do travel comfortably with light mobility assistance. However, we would recommend considering whether the pace of daily sightseeing and walking distances will feel manageable, especially on full activity days. Please also note that travellers are responsible for carrying their own luggage between hotels and during transfers, so guests should be comfortable managing their bags throughout the tour.

I'm interested in your Japan tour from April 20 to May 2, 2026. While reviewing the included and excluded items, I noticed that both health and travel insurance appear to be mandatory. Did I understand that correctly? Would you please clarify?

That is correct, we do require for our Customers to get a Travel Insurance that also covers Medical Related Concerns. Adequate travel insurance is a condition of booking with us. You must be satisfied that your insurance fully covers all your personal requirements including pre-existing medical conditions, the cost of cancellation by you; the cost of assistance (including repatriation - medical and non-medical) in the event of accident or illness; loss of baggage and money; protection against any Covid-related claims and other expenses.

Im looking to book a trip for my wife and step daughter who is 20. On this tour is there time for her to explore anything Anime related? Arcades? Manga ? She is fascinated by these things Japanese and wanted to ask before booking.

Tokyo is the best place for anime lovers! Popular districts like Akihabara (anime, manga, arcades, collectibles), Shibuya, and Harajuku can be explored during free time. While the tour does not include dedicated anime-themed activities as part of the standard itinerary, there is enough flexibility and free time for her to explore these interests at her own pace. The cities visited — especially Tokyo — are rich with anime culture.

Would this tour allow my 11 year old daughter and my 2 year old daughter on this tour?

Ken Simpson, our Travel Leader, was the main reason this entire adventure was excellent! Along with Masako and Naru, they were a dynamic team. Always were happy and navigating obstacles to ensure our trip was incredible no matter what. For Ken specifically, I would request him every time for every new place I visit. His organization, expectations, and recommendations made this trip the best I've ever had. Give this man whatever he wants, priority on places he wants to tour/lead next, or a raise. He is definitely a keeper! The overall tour was also incredible - We did hit cherry blossom season at its prime, which I know is luck-based. As my first time to Japan, this was the perfect way to get a quick taste of so many cities, and I've made note of the places I would want to revisit with more time (Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo). If there was something I would change, is make Nara a part of the normal trip itinerary. We had the rare chance to visit this due to the Sumo experience not being available. Feeding the deer in Nara was a highlight of the whole trip. They should make this a permanent change for future. There were a few hotels that were not that great, one of which was in Hiroshima (but the breakfast views were incredible). The best hotel was the one in Takayama. This was a huge upgrade to any of the hotels we visited. Including the spa!! We even rented the karaoke room, which was also so much fun! I would highly recommend this trip to everyone, but I know the experience comes down to the Tour leaders and the people on it. For this reason, I will prioritize another Expat experience.Show more

Really good value for money. The accommodation was pretty good. Our awesome Tour Guide, Jamie Seymour was very knowledgeable about the country, not just the history like other tours I've been on. We saw and experienced more than most people doing Japan. There's a lot of walking, which you'd expect, but everyone kept up and no-one got left behind. Tour assistant Kanako and coach driver Yamamoto-San were so helpful and cheerful. They made a pretty special team. Even though I couldn't handle the food, it wasn't an issue because the country and the people were beautiful. I'm looking forward to my next Expat tour!   How will my wife and step daughter get from the Tokyo airport to the hotel to meet the group? Having never been to Japan they are nervous they won't be able to figure this out.

  The easiest way to get from the airport to a hotel in Japan is usually the airport express train (like the Narita Express, Skyliner, or Haruka Express). The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
