Itinerary
- Day 1
Kuching
You'll arrive in Kuching before 11:00 AM and start with a guided tour of this riverside city. The route takes you past Fort Margherita from the waterfront, then through colonial-era buildings including the Courthouse and General Post Office. Next, you'll stop at Tua Pek Kong Temple, which is Kuching's oldest Chinese temple, and walk through the colorful shop-houses along India Street. If there's time, the tour includes a visit to Malay villages and a stroll along the Waterfront where you can grab a coffee at one of the outdoor cafes and watch sampans on the Sarawak River.

- Day 2
Kuching - Batang Ai - Longhouse
This morning you're heading to Semenggok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to watch rescued orang utans during feeding time (though sightings aren't guaranteed). After that, you'll drive for about 4.5 hours through rice fields, pepper plantations, and local villages on your way to Batang Ai Dam. Once there, a boat takes you to your longhouse for the night with the Iban people. You can join in daily activities or swim in the river before dinner. Later, the Headman will meet with you over rice wine and there'll be traditional Iban dances, including the Ngajat warrior dance.

Longhouse - Kuching
After breakfast, you'll take a short walk through the village garden where someone will explain how local plants are used traditionally. Then it's time to head back by longboat downriver and across the lake to the jetty. There's a lunch stop along the way, and you should be back at your Kuching hotel by noon.

- Day 4
Kuching - Mulu
You'll fly to Mulu National Park in the morning. Once there, exploration starts with a 3 km raised plank walk through a peat swamp forest leading to the Deer and Lang Caves, where the world's largest cave passage is located. If the weather cooperates, you might see millions of bats flying out of the caves at evening. Mulu is known for its plants, with around 1,500 flowering plant species and 170 wild orchid varieties to spot (though animal sightings aren't guaranteed).

- Day 5

Today continues your cave exploration with a boat ride to Clearwater Cave where you can swim in the crystal-clear water. After that, you'll visit Wind Cave and then head to Batu Bungan Penan Settlement to see how the Penan tribe lives and check out their traditional handicrafts. You'll return to Mulu in time to catch your flight to Kota Kinabalu.

You're spending the full day at Kinabalu National Park, home to Southeast Asia's highest mountain. This is a botanist's paradise with over 1,000 orchid species, rhododendrons, pitcher plants, and lots of bird species. A guided nature walk is included, and you'll also visit the exhibition hall and watch a presentation about the park.

Kota Kinabalu
This morning involves a half-day city tour of Kota Kinabalu. You'll stop for photos at Wisma Tun Mustapha (the Sabah Foundation Building), Puh Toh Zhe Temple, the State and City Mosque, and the Sabah Art Gallery, which has cultural and artistic pieces from Sabah. After the tour, you'll head to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your departure flight.
