Itinerary
- Day 1
Cape Town to Antarctica
Your journey begins with a 5-hour charter flight across the Southern Ocean toward Antarctica, crossing into continuous daylight as you approach the continent. You'll land on blue ice and then transfer by Basler BT-67 aircraft for about 30 minutes to reach Camp Whichaway. After settling into your luxury dome tent, take some time to walk around the immediate area and get oriented to your surroundings.

- Day 2
Antarctica - Camp Whichaway
This is your choice day at Camp Whichaway. You can go easy with yoga, massages, and gentle hikes if that appeals to you, or lean into something more active like exploring ice waves, climbing a nunatak, ice climbing, or abseiling. Throughout the day, polar experts give talks covering Antarctica's lesser-known history and record-breaking expeditions. Each excursion gets tailored to your group, and no prior experience is required for any activity.

- Day 3
Antarctica - Emperor Penguin Colony, Atka Bay
Fly for 2.5 hours over Antarctica to reach the emperor penguin colony at Atka Bay. You'll observe more than 14,000 breeding pairs from the film 'The Journey of the Penguins,' and the penguins show little fear of visitors. Depending on the month, you might see fluffy chicks in November, moulting penguins in December, or early migration beginning in late January. Plan on spending 3 to 4 hours in the colony documenting these remarkable moments.

- Day 4
Antarctica - Camp Whichaway
Your day circles around Camp Whichaway and the surrounding landscape. Head down to explore the ice waves below the camp, then move through a series of ice tunnels that create an otherworldly environment. Later, your guide leads a hike across snow and ice to a viewpoint where you can see across the endless ice landscape in all directions.

- Day 5
Antarctica - South Pole
This is your South Pole day. The Basler BT-67 flies over mountain ranges in the morning, stopping at Dixie's Camp for refueling, with a total flight time around 7 hours. You'll trek across the high polar plateau before reaching 90 degrees south. Take photos, get your passport stamped, and absorb the fact that from this point, every direction is north. Fewer than 500 people reach here each year. Return to Dixie's Camp at 83 degrees south (roughly 2 hours flying) and overnight in tents.

- Day 6
Dixie's Camp to Camp Whichaway
After breakfast in your tent, board the plane for the 5-hour flight back to Camp Whichaway. The flight gives you time to take in Antarctica's sheer scale from above. Once you return to camp, celebrate your South Pole achievement with a three-course dinner and champagne.

- Day 7
Ice Hike
You'll head out on a guided ice hike with professional mountain guides who know how to navigate the pressure ridges safely. These formations have been shaped over thousands of years by water and wind, so there's a lot of interesting geology to see as you're walking across them. The Antarctic landscape spreads out around you with views in all directions, and your guides stay with you the whole time to make sure everything goes smoothly. By evening, you're back at the same camp from the night before, so no packing and moving around today.

- Day 8
Antarctica to Cape Town
Depart Camp Whichaway and fly back to Cape Town, completing your Antarctica expedition. From there, you can either head home or continue on to another destination.
