When visiting Fort William, is there any option to visit the train or viaduct of Glenfinnan, which has to do with the Hogwarts Express?

We do not visit the viaduct on the 3 day Isle of Skye tour but if you join the 3 day Loch Ness and Skye Magic tour or the 5 Day Highland Fling, both of them visit the viaduct. Please note that we do not always see the train.

I have a question about age while booking it says 18 to 39 .. so some one whose age is less than 18 years or more than 39 can't go for trip.

We offer tour specifically for young people aged between 18-39. Although we sometimes make exceptions for people just over the 40 mark, we unfortunately can't do the same for anyone under the age of 18 due to legal reasons.

Could we join this tour knowing that this is predominanlty a younger crowd? We are very chill and ready for a great trip

Our guests are mostly in their early twenties and book with us specifically because we have a set age restriction and they want to hang out and socialise with other people their age. I hope you can understand! However, there are plenty of other tour companies out there who don't have an age restriction, who would be able to give you the adventure you are looking for.

May I know if this tour will go to the Glenfinnan Viaduct?

The 3 day Isle of Skye tour does not go to the Glenfinnan viaduct, but we do have tours that do. If you wanted to see the viaduct, then the 3 day Loch Ness and Skye Magic tour and the 5 day Highland Fling tour both include the Glenfinnan viaduct in their itineraries.

Can I store my large luggage at the hostel during the tour?

Yes, you can leave larger bags in the Castle Rock Hostel’s secure luggage storage for the duration of the trip.

Are there other taxes to pay? Can I know what type of accommodation is on the Isle of Skye? A hostel or rooms? Breakfast included? What else do I need to know? What type of clothing? Is trekking clothing ok?

my age is 58 I'm very athletic, this is a problem? I read ade 18-39? I'm excluded?

I need exact time and place for the start of the tour and end of the tour. And how far is the start & end point from airport. If we come directly from Airport to the start point, how much luggage size per person is available.

For this tour we would highly recommend arriving in Edinburgh the night before and staying overnight, as the tour will be leaving at 8 am and you would need to arrive at Castle Rock Hostel (the departure point) at 7:30 to check in. The tour will end at the same point, we generally arrive around 6 pm but as we can't guarantee timings on the roads, we recommend choosing a late flight out or spending the night in Edinburgh. The starting point is a 30 minute taxi from the airport or 45 minutes with public transport and walking. Free luggage storage is available at the departure point, but you're also able to travel with a cabin sized bag for the boot and a day bag.

Are we staying one night at castle rock and the other at Kyleakin village, 2 nights is it?

The tour is 2 nights, 3 days. Both nights are spent in Kyleakin, but you can book your nights before and after the tour at Castle Rock when you book direct. Otherwise, you'll receive a discount code for 10% off a stay at Castle Rock, High Street Hostel or Royal Mile Backpackers with your booking confirmation.

Is the tour price listed on Tour Radar comprehensive of all costs?

No, the price listed on Tour Radar is for the tour only. Additional costs include accommodation and potentially other personal expenses.

Is this suitable for this tour? My wife is disabled and has a mobility scooter.

Our tours are not suitable for people with mobility issues as our coaches do not support wheelchair or scooter users, and tours involve hiking on uneven and rigid paths, which does require a basic level of fitness.

The trip overall was okay, though there were a few things that made it less enjoyable. The bus engine was quite noisy and the microphone wasn’t working properly, so it was difficult to hear the guide. At one point, someone brought food on board and with the windows open, it became even harder to catch what was being said. After the first hour, most people seemed to stop trying to listen. The driver mixed historical commentary with a lot of side remarks about random things happening on the road, which sometimes made it harder to stay focused on the actual tour. The website lists many sample stops, but in practice it was up to the guide’s discretion. We ended up visiting only about 3–4 places each day, which meant a lot of time on the bus. On the positive side, the stay was decent and the trip didn’t feel hectic, which was nice. The views of the Scottish Highlands were truly beautiful, and the treks we went on were the highlight of the whole experience.Show more

Regarding the stops, our itineraries do include sample locations, but sometimes guides adjust based on weather, timing, and group preferences. This tour offers a once in a lifetime experience in the hills of the Highlands and the beautiful isle. Our weather in July was unmatched. I was sunburnt climbing Old Man of Storr. This was worthwhile in terms of money and time. We stopped at many places along the way and had fun the entire time. Mark was an excellent tour guide and I would specifically ask for him if you’re able to. He made the trip especially special with his energy and breath of knowledge surrounding the area.   Unfortunately if you outside of the age range we won't be able to accommodate you on the tour. This is for a few reasons, part of it being the fitness of guests but also the fact that we try to create the best atmosphere for young people to meet and connect on our Highland trips. This means that we have sold the idea of a young person's tour to the rest of the guests on tour and we need to respect that they want to travel with people their own age.

  We recommend that you book the accommodation at Castle Rock Hostel directly with them. At the moment the prices are very good. We understand that our demographic is young travelers who don't have a lot of money, and because of this we try and keep the costs down where ever we can, so we usually visit places which don't have entrance fees. With that said, the guides may choose to change the itinerary based on weather and road conditions, so to be on the safe side, it's always good to have some extra money in case of a rainy day. We recommend between £30-£50. I would also like to remind you to bring enough funds for food.
