Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll arrive at the airport where someone meets you for the ride to your hotel in Luang Prabang. Once you've had time to settle in, a guide takes you through the National Museum, which sits in the former Royal Palace building. After that, you'll head to Wat Sene, the city's oldest temple, and then move on to Wat Xieng Thong. The afternoon involves climbing the 329 steps up Phousi Hill where you can take in views of the gilded stupa and see the Mekong River reflected below. By evening, you have free time to wander the Night Market at your own pace.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
Your pickup happens between 8 and 8:30am for a scenic drive to Kuang Si Waterfall, passing through rice paddies and farms along the way. You'll spend about 2 hours at the three-tiered waterfall exploring the turquoise pools, then stop at a bear rescue center. After that, you'll visit Ban Na Uan Hmong village to see traditional embroidery work. Following lunch, a long-tail boat takes you upstream on the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves, where you can see Buddha images that are centuries old. Before heading back, you'll stop at Ban Xanghai whisky village to taste Lao Lao rice whiskey. The tour wraps up between 5:30 and 6:00pm.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng
Grab breakfast at the hotel before heading to the train station for about a 1-hour speed train ride to Vang Vieng. When you arrive in this quiet riverside town, you'll get on a boat that takes you along the Nam Song River, with limestone mountains rising up on either side. The boat trip includes a stop at Tham Nangfa Cave, also called Angel Cave, where you can walk through and see the stalactites and limestone formations inside.

- Day 4
Vang Vieng to Vientiane
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide and driver will pick you up to explore Tham Chang Cave on the southern side of Vang Vieng, which offers nice views of the villages and town. Then you'll drive to Vientiane, Laos's capital, via expressway (taking about 2 to 2.5 hours). This afternoon, you'll check out Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple still standing, Haw Prakeo, the former royal temple, Patuxay Monument, and That Luang Stupa. You'll have free time in the evening to do what you like.
