Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in La Paz

    You'll land in La Paz at 3,600 meters elevation, so take it easy with the altitude. Your guide meets you right at the airport and gives you a rundown of what's coming up over the next few days. From there you head to your hotel to get settled and rest up before things get going.

  2. Day 2

    La Paz City Tour and Tiwanaku Archaeological Temple

    After breakfast, you head out to Tiwanaku Archaeological Temple, an ancient pre-Inca site where you'll see the Akapana Pyramid, Semi-Subterranean Temple, Kalasasaya Temple, and the Puma Punku Complex. Back in La Paz's historic center after lunch, you walk through Pedro Murillo Square and the Cathedral, check out the Precious Metals Museum, and take in views from Killi Killi Viewpoint. Later you see Moon Valley and take the cable car to Witcher's Market before the day winds down.

    Uyuni Salt Flats

    Early breakfast comes first, then you fly to Uyuni and get straight into the salt flats. You'll walk through the Train Cemetery with its old steam locomotives, stop by Colchani village to see how salt gets processed, and check out the salt mounds and groundwater springs. Incahuasi Island is next, where giant century-old cacti give you views across the whole flat landscape. Lunch happens right there on the salt, and you catch the sunset before heading to your salt hotel for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Pulacayo, Tomave, and Hot Springs

    Breakfast at your hotel, then you head to Pulacayo, home to the world's second largest silver mine that's been operating since 1833. From there it's on to Tomave, a colonial town with an impressive church. You'll relax at a local hot spring at 35°C/95°F, then see the Warmy Kasilla with its striking green water and the light blue Orqo Kasilla lagoon. Lunch happens somewhere along the route before you get back to Uyuni and settle into the salt hotel again.

    Departure from La Paz

    Very good company to book tour. There one thing you may need to ask more information. A 3-star hotel in Bolivia is not a 3-star hotel in U.S..
