Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
Your guide meets you at the airport exit and drives you to the hotel. Check in and spend the rest of the day recovering from your journey. This gives you time to settle in and adjust to the local time.

- Day 2
New Delhi to Chandigarh to Shimla
Take the Shatabdi Express train from New Delhi Railway Station at 7:40 am, arriving in Chandigarh at 11:05 am. From there you'll drive to Kalka and start the winding climb toward Shimla, the former summer capital of British India. The roads get higher and more scenic as you approach the hills.

Landmarks Shimla - Day 3
Shimla to Kalpa
After an early breakfast, you'll drive through apple orchards and cedar forests toward Kalpa in Kinnaur district. The Sutlej River runs alongside the road from Rampur, carving through the valley below. Check into your hotel in Kalpa and take a short walk to nearby Roghi village to stretch your legs after driving.

Kalpa
After breakfast, head to the State Divisional Magistrate office to get your Inner Line Permit (bring your passport with you). The rest of the day you'll explore nearby villages including Chini, Kothi, Pangi, and Telangi with your guide. Bring a camera for the landscapes and traditional village architecture you'll see.

Kalpa to Tabo
Drive into Spiti Valley and climb to Tabo village at 3050m. You'll visit Chos Khor Monastery, built in 996 AD with over 100 lamas. The wall frescoes inside are considered comparable to the Ajanta caves. Reach Tabo by lunch and spend the afternoon and evening exploring the monastery and the village around it.

- Day 6
Tabo to Kaza
Rise early and join the monks for morning worship at Tabo Monastery (just a 5-minute walk). After breakfast, drive to Kaza, stopping at Dhankar, the ancient capital of Spiti. Dhankar Gompa sits on a hilltop and dates to the 12th century, housing over 160 Buddhist scriptures. Consider a detour to Peen Valley if you enjoy photography or geology.

- Day 7
Kaza
After breakfast, visit Kye Monastery. Then drive to the villages of Kibber and Gete for views of Spiti Valley. In the afternoon, continue to Langcha, Komic, and Hikkim villages. Hikkim sits at 4587 meters and holds the distinction of being the highest village connected by road, electricity, water, and telephone.

- Day 8
Kaza to Nako
Have breakfast at the hotel and drive to Nako via Tabo. Nako sits at 3625 meters in the last section of Spiti Valley. It was once an important Buddhist center, and you'll find temples from the 11th and 12th centuries scattered throughout, including a monastic complex on the western edge with four temples.

- Day 9
Nako to Sarahan
After an early breakfast, drive through apple orchards and over Narkanda at 9000 feet elevation to reach Sarahan. This village is surrounded by orchards with Shrikhand Mahadev Peak dominating the view. You'll visit Bhimakali Temple, which blends Buddhist and Hindu architecture and is sacred to both communities. The goddess idol is roughly 200 years old.

Sarahan to Shimla
Drive to Shimla via Rampur and Narkanda. Check into your hotel when you arrive and relax after the drive. You'll have time to settle in and explore the hotel area if you'd like.

Landmarks Shimla - Day 11
Shimla
After breakfast, take a heritage walk of Shimla with local historian Sumit, a published author of eight books. You'll walk through the heritage lanes visiting churches, the Viceregal Lodge (now the Institute of Advanced Study), the Army Heritage Museum, Annandale Ground, the Gaiety Theater, and Mall Road. Shimla's pedestrian areas make it ideal for walking tours.

Departure
Have breakfast and drive to Chandigarh railway station for the Shatabdi Express departing at noon, arriving in New Delhi at 3:30 pm. Check into your hotel for a shower and change of clothes. Later, head to the airport to catch your onward flight.
