Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest to Sibiu
You'll head out early from Bucharest toward Curtea de Arges, where the first stop is the historic monastery that dominates the town. From there, the day really opens up as you drive the Transfagarasan Road, one of those routes that justifies the travel on its own. You'll pass through numerous tunnels and cross high viaducts while waterfalls appear along the mountainside. Balea Lake comes into view during the drive, and you'll pass through Romania's longest tunnel before arriving in Sibiu by evening for your overnight stay.

- Day 2
Sibiu
After breakfast, you'll head to Corvin Castle, where the Gothic architecture and knight's halls give a real sense of medieval military life. The fortress sits impressively on the landscape, and you can walk through the different sections to understand its layout. From there, it's on to Alba Carolina Fortress, built between 1715 and 1738 as a Vauban-style military structure that shows a completely different architectural approach. Later in the day you'll drive back to Sibiu, arriving in the evening.

- Day 3
Sibiu to Brasov
Travel this morning to Sighisoara, a medieval town with nine towers and cobbled streets that winds through the old town center. The Clock Tower and Church on the Hill are both worth checking out. By afternoon you'll head to Brasov, where you can find Europe's narrowest street tucked between old buildings and see the Black Church, which is Romania's largest Gothic structure. You'll spend the night in Brasov.

- Day 4
Brasov to Bucharest
Following breakfast, you'll visit Bran Castle, the famous fortress associated with the Dracula legend, sitting on a 200-foot rock with good views of the surrounding area. From there you'll continue to Peles Castle, a German Renaissance-style residence built in the Carpathian foothills with its own distinctive character and interior spaces. The drive back to Bucharest happens in the evening, wrapping up the tour.
