Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    You'll be picked up at Tribhuvan International Airport with a nameplate and driven to your hotel in Thamel. Along the way, the route takes you past Pashupatinath Temple, the Royal Palace Museum (Narayanhiti), and the Garden of Dreams, so you'll get a sense of what's ahead. Once settled at your hotel, you have time to walk around Thamel's vibrant streets, grab something to eat, and get oriented before things kick off tomorrow.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

    This morning you'll head to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the ancient palaces and temples that form the heart of the city. From there, it's a climb up to the Monkey Temple for views across the valley. Later you'll go to Boudhanath Stupa where you can walk with local devotees and browse Tibetan handicrafts at the shops around the stupa. By late afternoon, you'll finish at Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal's most sacred Hindu site, where you can watch the evening rituals along the river.

    Patan and Bhaktapur

    Today takes you to two ancient cities just outside Kathmandu. In Patan, you'll walk through UNESCO World Heritage sites including Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square, then check out the museum to understand the city's history. You'll also see the Golden Temple and Banglamukhi Temple. After lunch in Patan, you'll head to Bhaktapur to see the preserved wood-carved architecture, visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and climb the tall Nyatapola Temple. It's a full day, so you'll return to Kathmandu in the evening to rest.

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

    After breakfast at your hotel, you'll drive south through scenic countryside toward Pokhara. The drive takes several hours but you'll see rural Nepal along the way. Once you arrive and check into your hotel beside Phewa Lake, you'll have time to rest from the journey. In the afternoon, walk along the lakeside streets where shops and cafes line the water, and get a feel for Pokhara's more relaxed pace compared to Kathmandu.

    Pokhara

    Start early this morning with a drive to Sarangkot to catch the sunrise hitting Annapurna, Fishtail, and Dhaulagiri peaks. After heading back for breakfast at your hotel, you'll visit David Falls and the Gupteshwor Mahadev cave. By midday, check out the International Mountain Museum to learn about the region's climbing history and geography. End your day at the World Peace Stupa on the hilltop overlooking both the city and the lake.

    After breakfast you'll drive back north to Kathmandu with scenic views the whole way. The journey takes several hours, and once you reach the city, you'll be transferred to your hotel to rest. Later in the evening, walk around downtown Thamel to get a feel for the local atmosphere, grab dinner at one of the many restaurants, and wind down.

    Departure from Kathmandu

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before April 11th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 11th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Asian Heritage Treks & Expeditions. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
