  Is ESTIAS in effect for Sept 2026? Are Am dollars/credit cards widely excepted or do we need fr currency? Where to search for travel ins? Tip expectations? Frequency of bathroom breaks? Do excursions sign up at booking? Can you assist in planning a couple day extention after the trip concludes in Geneva?

    ETIAS will apply to Switzerland even though Switzerland is not a member of the EU. That's because Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area and follows Schengen entry rules. In practice: If you are a citizen of a country that does not require a Schengen visa for short stays (up to 90 days within 180 days), you will need to obtain ETIAS authorization online before traveling once the system starts operating. If you already need a Schengen visa, ETIAS does not replace the visa. As of now, ETIAS is expected to begin in late 2026, and the official launch date will be announced in advance. This means that for travel in September 2026, ETIAS will most likely not yet be required; however, it is still advisable to check the official status before your trip. US dollars are not accepted for payment. Credit cards are widely accepted, so there is generally no need to carry cash. If you wish, you may request travel insurance through the TourRadar team. Tipping in Switzerland is typically no more than 5%. Restroom stops can be arranged approximately every 30 minutes. There is no need to book our optional tours in advance. We can advise you on how to plan a couple of extra days after your trip in Geneva; however, all reservations and payments would be at your own discretion.

  But in the website it still says that we can book the 2nd August to 8 august slot why? The name of the guide is vitalii raietskyi or something else?

    The traveler counter on TourRadar is incorrect. If you are not flexible with the Tour dates in July-August 2026, please submit your request for the Tour from August 2-8. Two spots may become available in the next week, and we will be able to confirm your request. Vitalii Raetskyi will be the Tour Leader.

  Regarding day three it states that the optional activities include visiting the Jungfraujoch or the waterfalls "April-October: includes Reichenbach Falls, Aareschlucht glacial gorge, Trummelbach waterfall". Are the waterfalls optional or is it just the Jungfraujoch that is optional? I looked at this trip last year and the waterfalls were included. Has it changed for this year?

    On Tuesday, Day 3rd, group tour participants have the following options:
    1. Visit the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Aareschlucht Gorge, and the Sherlock Holmes Falls. It's included in the regular Swiss Miracle Tour program.
    2. Visit the Jungfrau on your own, while the rest of the tour participants visit the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Aareschlucht Gorge, and the Sherlock Holmes Falls with a guide.
    3. If all group tour participants wish to go to the Jungfrau, we will arrange the guided Day Tour with transfers from the hotel, train tickets to the Jungfraujoch and back for the entire group for CHF 300 for adults and CHF 50 for children under 15. However, in this case, all group tour participants will miss the trip to the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Aareschlucht Gorge, and the Sherlock Holmes Falls.

    In your reply you state the "Sherlock Holmes" waterfall is included but the itinerary states we will visit "Trummelbach Falls". Part of the reason we are interested in this tour is to visit Trummelbach Falls. We really want to see that. I don't want to take the trip and not be able to see Trummelbach. Are you able to work that in for us?

  Is there transfer from airport to the hotel upon arrival and transfer from hotel to airport after the tour is finished? And how much is the excursion to the highest railway?

    You can arrive in Zurich anytime on Sunday. We will offer a complimentary arrival transfer from Zurich Airport to the 4* Hotel Zuri Fassbind Zurich. Excursion program starts on Monday at 8.50 am, after breakfast and check out. The tour program ends on Friday around 5:00 PM in Geneva. So, you can plan your early morning flight from Geneva to London on October 24th. If necessary, you can even fly from Geneva to London on the evening of October 23rd, in which case we will discount the tour price by €100 per person for the cancellation of one hotel night in Geneva.

    If we stay at a different hotel in Zurich before the tour starts, would you be able to provide a transfer from the hotel on day 1 instead of the airport pick-up?

    On the first day of the Tour, Sunday, all our travelers will stay overnight at the 4* Hotel Zuri Fassbind Hotel (Heinrichstrasse 254, 8005 Zürich). On Sunday, we provide a complimentary transfer for all travelers (from Zurich Airport or from another hotel in Zurich).

  I will be getting in and out of Switzerland by train, does that mean I'd have to arrange for own transfer to and from hotels? Also, in these types of tours I've taken in the past, large checked-in luggages are forbidden as there is no space on the mini-bus, is that the case here?

During the trip, we provide full transportation services via a comfortable minibus Mercedes Benz. On Sunday, May 10 we will provide you with a free arrival transfer from Zurich airport. The meeting with the Swiss Miracle Tour leader and the start of the excursion program will take place on Monday at 8:50 AM, after breakfast and hotel check-out. Every week, we happily welcome guests aged 65 to 80 on our tours. Last year, our oldest traveler was 87! If you're comfortable walking 10,000–12,000 steps a day, you're more than welcome to join our Swiss Miracle Tour.

  What are cancellation fees and dates? Any hidden fees to total? Excluding meals and excursions? Can XCover be added after I pay? I'd like to look online for XCover rating and check other insurance also. Once i book and pay, is this date a done deal? As I will purchase my airfare asap because of the gas/fuel prices.

    Cancellation fees & charges:
    
    Changing the number of people in a booking to a smaller number is considered cancellation for the change in the number of participants. Such cancellations are subject to cancellation fees as per the below. As we start to incur costs from the time the contract is confirmed we will apply cancellation charges as shown below from the time when written notification of the cancellation is received:
    
    For all bookings of Multi-day tours operated by OpenUp Swiss Travel Experience SA a minimum of 21 days' notice of cancellation or amendment prior to your scheduled tour departure is required for a full refund.
    
    For all cancellations of Multi-day tours operated by OpenUp Swiss Travel Experience SA less than 21 days' notice before trip departure you will be refunded 50% of the total tour price. 50% is non-refundable, as this represents our direct cost of booking and preparing your tour.
    
    If a cancellation of Multi-day tours is made with less than 10 days' notice prior to departure, no refund is given.
