  This is the most amazing tour! If you are looking to get out of the big cities, and spend some time travelling through the countryside, then this is the trip for you. Romania is truly the most stunning country, and this tour takes you through some of its most beautiful places, as well as stops at some of the most stunning sites – historical sites, castles, monasteries, villages, you will cover everything! If there is somewhere you want to go that isn’t on the itinerary, the owner is more than happy to personalise it for your group, just let them know what your interest are, as I found them to be more than happy to accommodate and personalise the tour. My guide for the week was so knowledgeable about the history of Romania, I learnt so much. The hotels are fantastic (just note that some don’t have lifts, so you will have to carry luggage upstairs in some places), and they’re located right in the middle of the old towns like Bravos, Sighisoara etc so there are plenty of choices to head out for meals at night which is lovely. The homestays are incredible - and the homestay hosts made the most incredible food I have ever tasted in my entire life! (You will need to have your own toiletries for these nights though as they aren’t accommodated like in the hotels) Some of the drive days are long days, so you may want to have snacks and drink handy, but again, it’s your personal tour so you can ask to stop if need be as the drive/stops are super flexible which is nice.   My wife and I elected to take this tour for our honeymoon immediately after our wedding - going in, we didn’t really have much in terms of expectations other than to experience a new country together, experience a new culture and learn as much as we could. We were absolutely blown away - going up into Transylvania with our tour guide was an experience we will never forget - the museums, castles and monasteries were breathtaking as was the entire countryside. The guest houses we stayed in wanted nothing more than for us to enjoy our stay, the cooking was phenomenal and we got a true taste and appreciation for the culture. Our guide truly went above and beyond, we couldn’t have been any happier with our experience and my wife and I will be talking about our evening in Sighişoara likely for the rest of our lives!Show more

  We have completed the seven day tour of Transylvania Muramures and Bucovina Our driver Alena was remarkable, very knowledgeable, a fabulous driver, bearing in mind all the mountains we had to go over. All the places we stayed at were first rate we had asked for a twin bedded room with ensuite and that’s what we had. In the guest house is the food was really lovely and traditional, and in Brasov, the owner of the guesthouse where we were staying, directed us to a very good restaurant about 100 m away. We went to the bakery nearby for breakfast as the breakfast at Casa Timar was not up to the standard of all the other places we stayed. Bogdan, who is the owner of Transylvania discovery tours put together a fantastic tool and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Transylvania and Romania.Show more

  Romania is a beautiful country, but our trip wasn't as great as we’d hoped. For starters, the car we were in was not very comfortable for long drives. The guide, although nice, didn't appear very knowledgeable about the details of the itinerary (the itinerary sent to his phone via text/WhatsApp was very limited in the information compared to what we were provided), nor did he provide correct information about some of the questions asked or provided quick responses but nothing in-depth. There were items discussed/listed in our itinerary (posted about the tour on the website) but we didn't do them, which sometimes left us with a lot of time at the end of the day (and we were staying in a small village and had nothing to do). Also, we asked not to be photographed, repeatedly, but he still took pictures of us and offered no proof that they were deleted (although asked and reminded to delete them- responding, “Don’t worry, nothing will happen.”). We were often brought to touristy places to eat because that was what was open due to the time of day, which was not what we wanted and could've been avoided if the lunch stops had been planned. As far as accommodations, the owners/operators of the pensiones/guest houses were very kind and the food was delicious; however, there were a couple places that had inadequate showers (little to no water coming out of the showerhead due to buildup), not all had toiletries available (I think that is something that should be mentioned for travelers to bring), and almost all had stairs- which future travelers may need to be made aware of. Lastly, there were a couple of places that were closed: 1- the Black Church in Brasov which was a surprise and that information was not available online; 2- the Peles Castle was closed and it was stated on their website that they would be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (we were there on a Tuesday). We had been told, repeatedly, by our guide by how amazing this castle was and that we were going to be very impressed by it and yet, it was closed. It is shocking that we would be taken there on a day when it was known ahead of time to be closed. Our tour guide was not aware it was closed on Tuesdays and tried to make excuses for it by stating “It must be closed in the winter months on Tuesdays,” and “Didn’t you know it was going to be closed? Didn’t it tell you somewhere about this? “ It seems that a tour with better organization would make sure that we arrived there when it was open, such as going there first instead of visiting it last, doing the whole trip in reverse so that we could get all the experiences we were “sold”.Show more

Your comments will help us work with my team to better coordinate schedules and ensure travelers’ preferences are prioritized. 5. Accommodation: Thank you for highlighting the kindness of the guesthouse owners and the quality of food. However, I recognize your concerns about amenities such as showers, toiletries, and accessibility. I will work more closely with accommodation providers to ensure clear communication of what is available and provide travelers with the necessary information in advance. 6. Closed Attractions: I deeply regret the frustration caused by arriving at attractions that were closed.   This was the best 7 day holiday, me and my husband ever experienced. Bogdan (owner of transylvania discovery tours) is the best professional, knowledgeable tour guide you can get, with extra fun facts and surprises. From the very beginning you can see and feel his love and passion for Romania. It penetrates straight to your heart, with the very well planned itinerary, to get you to see as many wonderful and best places as possible, which was explained to us everyday the day before, which also can be tailor made at your own pace. Yes, this tour includes quite a lot of travelling (i had to take travelling pills as i suffer from motion sickness ), but it was very relaxing with all the breath taking postcard scenery. We felt we had VIP treatment, felt extremely safe, both being in a foreign country and with his excellent driving. Bogdan checked everything was perfect, in every room we lodged, that we had enough food and drink, local liqueur and wine , privacy and smoking area. The local hosts are super, it was like saying goodbye to your mum every time. Transylvania discovery tours 's slogan is 'come as a guest and leave as a friend', i must say that's definitely the absolute truth!! Thank you once again Bogdan , definitely will see you again next year with all our family.Show more
