Overall the tour and the guide, Bogdan, were very good! We got to see all the sights listed with a pretty good commentary on the history of the places and were generally given plenty of time for pics…Overall the tour and the guide, Bogdan, were very good! We got to see all the sights listed with a pretty good commentary on the history of the places and were generally given plenty of time for pics or shopping. Bogdan was also very well connected which gave us access to the front of the line or much better parking, or being able to see locked rooms. Bogdan also provided some cool recommendations for our stay in Brasov, which is such a beautiful city.
There were a few challenges. I wish the driving wasn't so fast since we were on many winding roads and we did a lot driving. Should note that something like 35-40% of the time you spend driving, it's just part of getting to all the sites. Some of the days got very long (~10hrs). The tour is probably more manageable with shorter days. We went during the summer, so it was super hot and the room in casa timar had no AC nor a fan, so we were taking many cold showers. It does get cooler at night, but it's a rough start. Finally, I've seen "private" be used for tours that have less than 10 people. But this is you, your guests and the tour guide only!
Generally a good option if you are looking for a private tour with accommodation. Id reach out to the tour and ask questions. Bogdan is very approachable.
Bogdan has developed a great tour that allows those not familiar with Romania to see its beauty and diversity. From the Black Sea, Danube Delta to the painted churches, fortresses, castles, monasteries, quaint towns geared to give tourists a view into daily life, hikes/walks to beautiful vistas and hidden pools and caves (not one but two), a salt mine and even a drive on the famous Transfagarasan Highway! Bogdan was great at catering to all speeds and abilities in our group and answering never ending questions. He made sure everyone saw what they wanted and rested when needed. I highly recommend one of Bogdan’s tours to see and learn about Romania. Romania is a beautiful and interesting country. Go soon because when everyone figures out how amazing Romania and Bogdan are, it will be full of tourists and he will be super busy!

You will definitely learn a lot on this tour! It was well planned out, and the locations were all unique. Sighisoara was straight out of a movie, and we enjoyed having some free time there. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone, and I can assure that you will come as a tourist, and leave as a friend.

My wife and I elected to take this tour for our honeymoon immediately after our wedding - going in, we didn’t really have much in terms of expectations other than to experience a new country together,…My wife and I elected to take this tour for our honeymoon immediately after our wedding - going in, we didn’t really have much in terms of expectations other than to experience a new country together, experience a new culture and learn as much as we could. We were absolutely blown away - going up into Transylvania with our tour guide was an experience we will never forget - the museums, castles and monasteries were breathtaking as was the entire countryside. The guest houses we stayed in wanted nothing more than for us to enjoy our stay, the cooking was phenomenal and we got a true taste and appreciation for the culture. Our guide truly went above and beyond, we couldn’t have been any happier with our experience and my wife and I will be talking about our evening in Sighişoara likely for the rest of our lives!

The bear sanctuary in Zarnesti was one of the highlights, as was stunning Peles castle and the medieval town of Sighisoara. A bit intense as we had to pick up and drive each day, but our guide Bogdan was a true gem, patient, flexible, and wonderful company. Would have liked more time in nature but that would be a different tour entirely. Just note that entrance fees to the sights are not included and they add up but it's a pleasure donating to the restoration efforts.
