  Bogdan has developed a great tour that allows those not familiar with Romania to see its beauty and diversity. From the Black Sea, Danube Delta to the painted churches, fortresses, castles, monasteries, quaint towns geared to give tourists a view into daily life, hikes/walks to beautiful vistas and hidden pools and caves (not one but two), a salt mine and even a drive on the famous Transfagarasan Highway! Bogdan was great at catering to all speeds and abilities in our group and answering never ending questions. He made sure everyone saw what they wanted and rested when needed. I highly recommend one of Bogdan’s tours to see and learn about Romania. Romania is a beautiful and interesting country. Go soon because when everyone figures out how amazing Romania and Bogdan are, it will be full of tourists and he will be super busy!Show more

  Our time spent first with Bianca and then with Bogdan allowed us to experience a world of such diverse scenery, locations, accommodations, hosts, sites, food and knowledge that we would never have been able to explore without them and their expert, friendly guidance. The planning that has gone into this tour to enable guests to immerse themselves in so many aspects of life in Transylvania is of a very professional standard. From the Danube delta to the far North Western Carpathians this was an absolutely unique, wonderful experience. On the practical side, it is well priced for what it includes and the distances it covers. At all times we felt safe, and that our enjoyment was Bianca’s and Bogdan’s prime concern.Show more

Romania is blessed with it’s beauty & abundant natural resources.   Pros: - The itinerary and pace of the trip was well planned, without being overly rushed or packed in a day. - Key sites of interests and ability to travel to various parts of Romania would not have been possible if done alone. - The guide kindly drove me out to visit a store/friend outside of the itinerary. Thank you for this extra gesture. Cons: - The guide was short with me and lost his temper twice, both times accusing me of not listening because I could not recall facts when quizzed. (I really just forgot!) - There should a a strict distinction between agreeing to buy the guide dinner & drinks (gladly!), and borrowing money. - It seems petty to quibble over small sums of money “borrowed” to pay for parking or not having small change, and not having it returned. - My requests to visit a post office to purchase stamps to mail post cards were constantly brushed off, or perhaps forgotten. Eventually, another Romanian I met along the trip brought there instead. Neutral: - Prepare cash in advance as entrance fees are not included in the price of the package. This is implied, but not explicitly stated in the package. - Being a highly introverted person, and my guide seemingly extroverted, this may have resulted in misunderstandings. Perhaps my guide did not get the energy he wanted from me, but this is something beyond my control. This is not personal, but appeared to have been taken personally. - Loud expressions and noises while showing appreciation during the consumption of food & drink is something that is unique to my guide.Show more

  Unparalleled experience. I ended each day with a smile on my face. Romania captured a piece of my heart. I lucked out with fall colors, perfect weather & a shoulder season sans crowds. Bogdan my driver-guide & now friend was always a step ahead of any possible inconvenience insuring a hassle free experience. He's a font of knowledge on all things Romanian. The lodging, meals included & transport were all well above average. The sights & sounds of Romania were excellent. I'd heartedly endorse using Transylvania Tours.Show more
