Itinerary
- Day 1
Flight to Colombo
Your flight departs from Frankfurt heading to Colombo. This is your travel day to Sri Lanka, so you'll want to settle in for the journey and get some rest before arrival.

Colombo to Negombo
You'll land at Colombo airport and get transferred to your hotel in Negombo. After checking in, the afternoon is yours to walk around the beach and get your bearings. Come evening, there's a welcome dinner waiting for you.

Negombo to Giritale
Head inland to see the 20-meter-high Buddha statue in Ridigama, finished in 2015 and the world's largest granite statue. From there, you'll explore Yapahuwa's rock fortress with its impressive ruins and decorated stone staircase. Arrive in Giritale as the sun starts to set.

Sigiriya and Dambulla
Early morning start to Sigiriya Lion Rock, a UNESCO site. You'll climb roughly 1,900 steps up the 220-meter monolith for 360-degree views and the famous cloud girl frescoes. Later, visit Dambulla cave temples and their Buddha figures, check out the vegetable marketplace, then head back to your hotel.

- Day 5
Giritale to East Coast
Stop at Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO site with ancient temple ruins set in nature. Continue east toward the coast and arrive in the afternoon with time to relax by the beach before evening.

- Day 6
Passikudah
Visit a local school in the morning to hand over school materials and toys. Rest of the day is free time at Passikudah Bay, where a 2-kilometer sandy beach slopes gently into the water. Snorkeling at the offshore reef is an option depending on the season.

Landmarks Passikudah Bay - Day 7
Passikudah to Wasgamuwa National Park
Head back inland to Wasgamuwa National Park, which has over 150 plant species and around 150 elephants. An afternoon safari drive lets you explore this biodiverse protected area and see wildlife in their habitat.

Wasgamuwa to Kandy
Early start with packed breakfast. You'll travel by off-road vehicle then on foot up a viewing hill to catch the sunrise with 360-degree views while eating your breakfast. Later, drive through fruit and vegetable fields with pumpkins, okra, eggplants and citrus. Evening brings you to Kandy for the Buddhist pooja ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth.

- Day 9
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Travel to the central highlands and Nuwara Eliya. Visit a tea plantation to learn how Ceylon tea is picked and processed. Take a scenic train ride that goes above the clouds. Evening includes a private cooking demonstration where you'll learn Ceylonese cooking techniques.

- Day 10
Nuwara Eliya to Kataragama
Start a relaxed hike to Little Adam's Peak in Ella, enjoying nature with views at 1,141 meters altitude. Later, travel south to Kataragama, a pilgrimage site where Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam come together peacefully.

- Day 11
Yala National Park to Kalutara
Before dawn you'll head out for a game drive in Yala National Park, spotting leopards, sloth bears, monkeys, deer and crocodiles in the savannah-like landscape. After the safari, drive to Galle, a historic port city with 16th-century fortress ruins. End your day in Kalutara on the sandy beach.

- Days 12 - 13
Kalutara
Spend two relaxing days in Kalutara's bay. The fine sandy beach is perfect for leisurely walks and unwinding by the water at your own pace.

Kalutara to Airport
Free time until your airport transfer. Your hotel room stays available until noon, and you can use the amenities and keep luggage stored until you need to head out for your flight.

Return Flight
Return flight to Frankfurt. You'll arrive back in Germany, concluding your Sri Lanka journey.
