Itinerary
- Day 1
Germany to Antananarivo
Your flight departs Germany late in the evening, heading toward Antananarivo. It's a long journey across the continent, so settle in for the overnight travel to Madagascar.
- Day 2
Antananarivo
After arriving at Antananarivo airport, you'll get an orientation of the city center. Then head to the former royal palace Rova Manjakamiadana, which sits high above the city and offers great views across the metropolis. From there, you'll make your way to your hotel to get settled.

Antananarivo to Akanin'ny Nofy
You'll drive east early in the morning, passing through wooded hills and rice fields. There's an optional stop at Peyrieras Nature Park if you want to see sifakas and chameleons. Later, you'll take a boat along the Pangalanes Canal to reach Akanin'ny Nofy Reserve (Palmarium) in the rainforest lowlands by afternoon.

Akanin'ny Nofy
Spend the morning walking through Palmarium Reserve looking for lemurs, chameleons, geckos and other animals that live only here. In the afternoon, you can either swim in the lake or relax in a hammock. Then take an evening boat trip to an island to search for the rare Aye-Aye.

- Day 5
Akanin'ny Nofy to Andasibe-Mantadia NP
Start the morning with a boat ride across the Pangalanes Canal, then switch to a vehicle heading toward Analamazaotra Special Reserve inside Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Once there, you'll walk through the tropical rainforest looking for chameleons, lemurs, and other endemic wildlife that live only in this region. By evening, after grabbing dinner, head out along the reserve boundaries to search for mouse lemurs and nocturnal creatures before returning to settle in for the night.

- Day 6
Andasibe-Mantadia to Antananarivo
Grab breakfast and then set out on a hike in Analamazaotra Special Reserve to find the Indri-Indri, Madagascar's largest lemur species. You'll listen for their loud territorial songs and try to get photos up close. Later, drive back to Antananarivo, arriving in the evening.

- Day 7
Antananarivo to Antsirabe
Drive through the central highlands to Antsirabe, known for its hot springs and colonial architecture that blends English, French and Scandinavian styles. Check out the historic Star brewery, which produces Three Horses Beer. The afternoon includes an easy mountain bike tour around the surrounding area.

Antsirabe to Miandrivazo
Start with a morning walk in the village of Andromafana to meet local craftsmen and farmers. You'll learn about medicinal plants grown in the region and the area's thermal history. Then drive west across the highlands past farming villages and rice fields, arriving in Miandrivazo early in the evening, your starting point for the river journey.

- Days 9 - 10
Miandrivazo - Masiakampy
Begin a two-day motorized boat trip on the Tsiribihina River with platforms for viewing wildlife. You'll travel through wide valleys and gorges, spotting water birds, flying foxes and possibly crocodiles. Later, visit a Sakalava settlement to see how people live along the river, then hike to a waterfall. Sleep in well-equipped tents near the river, with all meals prepared by the boat crew.

Landmarks Tsiribihina River - Day 11
Belo-sur-Tsiribihina to Bekopaka
Finish the boat trip around midday, then drive by off-road vehicle to Bekopaka to reach Tsingy de Bemaraha in Bemaraha National Park. You'll see the UNESCO World Heritage Site's limestone formations, which reach up to 50 meters high with razor-sharp peaks. Learn how the park once served as a hiding place for the Vazimba indigenous people 300 years ago.

- Day 12
Bekopaka
Explore Tsingy de Bemaraha on foot, where you can choose your adventure level. Take the easier 'Little Tsingys' route through limestone caves, canyons and labyrinths, or tackle the more challenging 'Big Tsingys' with climbing and hiking through limestone peaks. Either way, your guide will help you spot sifakas, gray mouse lemurs, red lemurs, weasel lemurs and crowned lemurs.

- Day 13
Bekopaka to Kirindy Reserve
A long drive brings you to Kirindy Forest Reserve, a 125 km² area of dry forest home to rare species like the Madagascar iguana, Votsotsa and fossa, the island's largest predator. In the evening, take a hike through the reserve to see nocturnal animals active at night.

- Day 14
Kirindy to Morondava
Walk through Kirindy Reserve in the morning to explore its plants and animals. Visit the German Primate Center research station where scientists study lemur behavior. Then drive to Morondava, the last stop, passing through the world's only baobab avenue with plenty of time to photograph these iconic trees.

- Day 15
Morondava to Antananarivo
Use the morning to relax on the beach or browse Morondava's colorful market before your early afternoon flight back to Antananarivo. Once you arrive in the capital, transfer to your hotel for the night.
