Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Negombo
Your driver meets you at Colombo Airport and takes you to your hotel in Negombo. After that long flight, the rest of the day is yours to rest up. If you find yourself with some energy by evening, the Fisheries harbor and Fish Market are nearby, along with the Old Negombo Catholics Settlement and Catamarans Beach if you want to walk around a bit.

Negombo to Sigiriya
Following breakfast and a briefing from your tour director, you'll head through scenic countryside toward Dambulla Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch happens in Dambulla, then you check into your Sigiriya hotel. Later that afternoon, you'll go on a jeep safari at Minneriya Wildlife Sanctuary to see wild elephants. The safari ends at 18:00 (6:00 PM), and you'll return for dinner.

Sigiriya
After breakfast, you'll spend about 3 hours climbing Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage site rising 200 meters on a massive magma rock. The village trek lets you spend time with locals and try their homegrown foods. From there, you'll continue to Polonnaruwa, the ancient second kingdom of medieval Ceylon and another UNESCO site, before heading back to your hotel in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya to Nuwara Eliya
Leaving after breakfast, you'll travel toward Nuwara Eliya on winding roads with views of tea plantations and waterfalls dropping down the hillsides. You'll stop at Ceylon Tea Trail and Ramboda Falls along the way. Once you check in at your Nuwara Eliya hotel, the evening is open for a city tour that takes in Lake Gregory and Queen Victoria Park.

Nuwara Eliya
Today focuses on the cloud-covered landscape around Nuwara Eliya. You'll have a picnic on Horton Plains highland plateau with stops at Ambewela meadows, New Zealand Farms, Lover's Leap Falls, and Cottage farms. If you're interested, there's an optional hiking trek available on the plateau as well.

Nuwara Eliya to Yala
An early breakfast gets you ready to board 'The Great Train Journey' to Ella. This scenic train ride takes you through mountains and cloud cover, crossing over a panoramic gorge. When you arrive in Ella, your tour director meets you there. While Ella has sites like 9 Arch Bridge, Ella Gap, Little Adam's Peak, and Ravana Falls, you'll continue south to Yala for dinner that evening.

Yala
You'll wake before dawn for the leopard safari at Yala wildlife sanctuary, starting with a packed breakfast. The game drive offers chances to see leopards up close since Yala has one of the world's highest concentrations of leopards. You'll also spot other tropical animals like Sloth Bears as you move through the sanctuary.

Yala to Ahungalla
After checking out, you head to historic Galle to watch the sunset from Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can try local curd and honey while looking out over the rampart views. Your coastal drive passes through Tangalle, Unawatuna, and Hikkaduwa before you reach your hotel in Ahungalla.

Ahungalla to Colombo
After breakfast, you'll head toward Colombo Airport. Along the way, there's time to stop at Bentota Beach for water sports if you want. Before heading to the Departure Lounge, you'll get a quick tour of Colombo city before your flight.
